Lewinsky Denied Reimbursement of Legal Fees
Court Says Taxpayers Should Not Pay $1.1 Million
By Carol D. Leonnig and William Branigin

Former White House intern Monica S. Lewinsky is not entitled to be reimbursed for $1.1 million she spent in legal fees related to an independent counsel investigation of President Bill Clinton and his affair with her, a federal appellate panel ruled today.

The three-judge panel, led by Justice David B. Sentelle of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, found that Lewinsky failed to meet the standard for reimbursement of her legal bills by U.S. taxpayers in such cases. The judges said Lewinsky could -- and likely would -- have been investigated by the Justice Department for perjury if independent counsel Kenneth W. Starr had not been looking into the matter.

She thinks she is still "working" in the WhiteHouse. Her family had not the morals to call Clinton what he was, so let them pay.

She'll just have to strap on those kneepads and earn it the old-fashioned way.

Can you believe this?

I just wonder how many and how much the taxpayers have paid for all of the Clinton fiascos?

I don't know if it's the same on your computer, but right underneath this article is another titled "Cash Cows." How appropriate.

Clinton has always been a user of women. The odd part is that the supply never ends.

She'll just have to sell more handbags---or do more of what she's good at.

She's still so dumb that she hasn't figured out yet that she is alive today only due to Linda Tripp's advice to save the dress.

And she had no qualms about receiving phone calls from her Bubba paramour at 2:30 am on her unsecured phone line--see Starr Report---wonder how many foreign operatives listened in and taped those conversations?

She just can't win for losing, can she! The thing that tickles me the most about her is that every time she inserts herself into the spotlight, Hillary is knashing her teeth in anger. Heh, heh.

The judges said Lewinsky could -- and likely would -- have been investigated by the Justice Department for perjury if independent counsel Kenneth W. Starr had not been looking into the matter...remarkable - I thought the only reason Starr investigated Lewinsky was that he was a sex-obsessed partisan out to get Clinton - the judges seem to think there really were valid legal reasons Lewinsky deserved investigation - imagine that.......

You know in all seriousness. Anytime anyone even looks at you funny you have to get a lawyer to defend yourself against any potential possible danger.

Prepaid legal is no real answer.

It is not a issue of not having legitimate legal issues. It is just so damn expensive to the ordinary joe (or joesephine)

Let's see. Eleven Blewinskis performed, divide into $1,100,000 fees requested = a nice round $100,000 per episode. Bill Clinton ought to reimburse her himself, plus a hundred bucks for the blue dress.

Monica needs to learn that the magic only works when you serve the interests of Bill Clinton.

It may not have been smart to save the dress, but it probably saved her life.

Couldn't agree more. I have always wondered why Monica's parents, family, friends, and lawyer- team did not realize that without Linda Tripp, Monica's remains would have been found floating in the Potomac, another Arkancide. A poor deluded girl who took nher own life. She owes that life to Linda Tripp.
