Italy bans flights over Rome

ROME, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- The Italian authorities Tuesday banned flights over Rome until Jan. 6 as a security measure against terrorist attack, the Italian news agency Ansa reported.

This was part of a heightened state of alert in Italy, Ansa said.

On Dec. 24, Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi told a local Milan paper that terrorists had planned to crash a hijacked plane into the Vatican on Christmas Day.

The paper published no details, and there was no attack. But Ansa said the alert continues.

In Germany, security at a Hamburg military air base was tightened following U.S. warnings that Islamic militants planned a suicide bomb attack.

The U.S. air base near Frankfurt was also on high alert, Ansa reported.

The gov'ts are taking these flight warnings very seriously. I wonder why we are any less at risk after 1/6/04 ?

Once THE WORLD ( particularly our European so-called friends ) wakes up from its dreamworld of peace and love , they are going to realize that we are in the midst of WW3 right now , and that the Islamofacists are out to destroy the USA , Europe and Israel . The Islamofacists must be eliminated and the sooner the better .

On Dec. 24, Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi told a local Milan paper that terrorists had planned to crash a hijacked plane into the Vatican on Christmas Day.

As I watched Christmas mass at St. Peter’s, the image of such a disaster crossed my mind. The following verse gave me comfort.

Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Well--if one walks past the hot end of my .30-06, that'll be one less.

But I haven't seen any out here in western edge of Milwaukee suburbs. Drat.

Don't let your guard down...They are out there like vermin. They need to be watched and then squashed like bugs, the whole lot of them.

This makes complete sense to me. If the U. S. is banning flights over New York, Washington D. C., Los Angeles and Las Vegas, doesn't it make sense to ban flights over the Vatican in Rome also?

.30-06 does not "squash." Much neater than that. Doesn't leave messy entrails ground into pavement.

Uh--although the celebration of 1/6 is important, it's not news that the Vatican is a target of the Muslims.

CF Battle of Lepanto, Battle of Vienna, etc., etc.

Been going on (without airplanes) for around 1400 years; there was a hiatus in the last 400 or so.

Seems an attack on the Vatican would be major at any time. Buon Natale! e Capo D'Anno!

They will gladly submit to their own destruction, as long as the US and Israel are destroyed as well.

They'd rather the West be destroyed than have America leading the West.

Sometimes squashing can be good. It leaves lasting memories that other bad guys will see and in effect make them realize that they ain't goin nowhere except into insect feed!! Vermin in, vermin out!

You have a point.

But did I say that I was going to remove the (nearly-intact but very dead) bodies?

Advertising comes in many forms.
