Round the illegals up and ship them to the country of their origin. Never happen, and we all know it. Imagine being the president responsible for ordering the National Guard to go around rounding up women and children at gunpoint and sticking them in camps for processing and deportation. How would that play on TV? Other than fringe right-wingers, there would be very few people in this country who would support such a move.
No, guard the border and focus on assimilation.
