DON'T SHOP DAY!!! (In protest of the upcoming Bush Amnesty)
Grassroots Effort ^ | American Patrol

Posted on 12/30/2003 10:55:22 AM PST by libertylass

"DON¹T SHOP DAY" IS CATCHING ON!! COMING TO TV!!

A major TV media outlet will do a story on the January 12th -- "Don¹t Shop Day." They have asked for an interview tomorrow!!! SEE http://tinyurl.com/3h5gn

WE NEED TALK RADIO TO DISCUSS THIS ACTION! We need you to call those talk shows!

Remember these talking points:

WHY?

A. Bush political advisors tell him voters have NO PLACE TO GO to protest his amnesty plans since all the Democrat candidates support amnesty. (See: http://www.washtimes.com/national/20030906-120054-6125r.htm)

HOW?

B. Since they think we have NO PLACE TO GO, we should let them know what they are up to by GOING NO PLACE on January 12, 2004, the first day of Bush¹s visit with Mexican President Fox in Mexico City. In other words, don¹t shop, don't go to movies, etc. Stay at home!

NO ONE IS HURT--

C. This is not a boycott. There will be no real economic damage to anyone, just a demonstration of our ability to protest. It's a win-win situation!

THERE IS NO SPONSOR--

D. While American Patrol is supporting this effort, there is no official sponsor. It is a true grassroots effort.

WHAT AMERICANS ARE SAYING:

Here is just some of the email feedback:

+++++++++++++++++++++ Everyone is really getting the word out. I think it's going to have a big impact. -- Along the same lines I think we should add: Make No Bank Deposits that day. Do not pay any bills (from the 9th-12th), and no online shopping either. -- Sincerely, Shanna in Arizona +++++++++++++++++++++++++ I did a search for historical events for the days between now and Jan.12th when President Bush will meet with President Fox, and the day when hundreds of thousands of Americans will not do ANY shopping. Tomorrow is the anniversary of the Pledge of Allegiance.

Tuesday is the anniversary of the U.S.- Mexico border. Wednesday is the anniversary of the opening of Ellis Island. We will add another day: January 12, 2004 - the American people protested illegal immigration with their pocketbook. Barbara V. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The no shop day on 1/12/04 could stop Bush dead in his amnesty tracks if it catches on, and I very much think it will. My friends and family are spreading the word fast. The media is always writing about the great economic clout of the Latino lobby to make driver's licenses and Latino benefits happen. This could be a demonstration of REAL economic power that could upstage Bush/Fox in Monterrey Mexico on 1/12/04. This Bush-amnesty counter-measure is a brilliant idea. Suddenly we don't have to be observers watching our citizenship, sovereignty, and laws being thrown away. L.B., Riverside, CA ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I would seek to deport the "economic refugees" including legal immigrants who are unable to work and pay their own way. In their place, I'd let an illegal stay who was able to work and pay his own way --- as long as he had committed no other crime. Maybe Bush could come up with something like that as a compromise --- end all welfare and government handouts for all immigrants --- legal and illegal, deport all those who take some kind of welfare program, deport all those who have committed felony document fraud, DWI, shoplifting, failure to pay their medical bills ---- and allow the illegal who didn't do any of that to take their place.

Unlike most here, I trust the honorable intentions, professionalism and resolve of Bush, Ashcroft, Ridge and the people at DHS who are tasked to fix this Clintonian mess.

Clinton?

It's been the same ol song and dance since well before Bush's Dad was ever president.

Since illegals have been pouring into this country unabated for well over 20 years now, what does Clinton have to do with this?

It's been the same ol song and dance since well before Bush's Dad was ever president. As usual, you seem out of touch regarding this ever escalating issue.

Oh, I see. Now the issue isn't illegal immigration in general by Mexicans and Canadians, and Irish, and Swedes, and English, but illegal immigration specifically by Mexicans.

Of course the only improvement important to the Amnesty hustlers is in the reelection prospects

At one time the "hispanic" vote was primarily Republican. I think Reagan won a majority of that vote --- maybe not a majority but a good percent of it. The Republicans arranged a blanket amnesty under Reagan and the percent of hispanic votes for Republicans dropped dramatically --- 80% went to Clinton and the Republicans have been scrambing to regain the Hispanic vote ever since. It doesn't look to me that amnesty pandering worked the last time --- why would it work this time? If it worked, the hispanic percent for Republicans would be solid --- and it's not by a long shot.

Just like many of those Chinese sponsoring their elderly and bringing them to the USA --- they wouldn't bring them at all if it weren't for SSI and Medicaid and food stamps. If they really had to pay their health care and other costs, they'd leave them back home where it's all much cheaper.

It's worth noting that some of the immigrant welfare you mention was cut off under Clinton - only to be restored by Bush.

Another stunning observation by Cultural Jihad.

Just look at Dallas, LA, and places like Houston and Phoenix, all of these cities have been completely over run by Irish and Swede illegal aliens.....

Nothing gets by you does it Cultural Jihad? You are really on the case.

*I was in an auto parts store the other night, in Van Nuys near Sherman Oaks. There were about eight other customers there at the time. I was the only one speaking English.

**The ghosts of eighty aborted babies were also there, but could not speak English since they have neither ears to hear the language nor tongues with which to speak.

If you've made less lucid posts, I've missed them.

Abortion, and the culture of abortion, are horrors.

They are also not the subject of this thread.

Your "ants" post is exactly what we all have been saying here. I suppose that means you agree with us.

So it goes that the knuckle-dragger's ever-escalating personal problem is not with immigration, but with their neighbors having been born in Mexico rather than Stockholm or Kinsale.

Hello? Anyone home?

Mexican's born in Mexico is not the issue here. The issue here is millions of people from Mexico pouring into our country ILLEGALLY.

Of course you know this. LOL!

GOD this is so frustrating. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? Fix the borders? We have over 88,000 miles of shoreline if you include islands. We have some of the largest borders in the world. We have the largest shipping fleet in the world. We have more continental flights than any country in the world. Everyone says close the borders -- fix the border problem. How? Has anyone thought beyond that statement?

A need to guard the borders more tightly than we are right now isn't necessary in order to stem the flow of illegal immigration. Cut off ALL taxpayer funded services to illegal aliens (welfare, food stamps, WIC, non-emergency medical care, etc) and at the same time crack down hard on companies that hire illegal aliens. Then, with no food, no money, and no jobs, the illegal aliens can choose to either stay here and starve or go back to their home countries and ask their governments for help.

Nobody cares.

Racebaiters do. That's why they change the subject, or just fall silent.

Ants.

2: Get legislation through Congress that would enable States to deny goodies to Illegals, a la Prop #187.

Who said that it's right for the Swedes to commit felony document fraud and completely ignore our laws on immigration and even come here and get on welfare programs? If you have evidence they are doing this or their president is encouraging them to flaunt our laws you should show us.

Round the illegals up and ship them to the country of their origin.

Are we going to have police busting down 12 million doors, locking them all up and paying their airfare out of the country?
Won't happen.

The Bush plan makes more sense.

You better check back on post #556. USADave was only quoting what your cohort wrote about 'seeing nothing but a bunch of us being afraid of Mexicans.' He was not separating them out from any other illegals.

Your a case.....

Something like that would actually have some hope in bringing about change in Mexico which ultimately benefits many more people.

American type prosperity doesn't need to end at the shore of the Rio Grande.

But it is.

Fat, lazy, and licentious societies are always easy prey for the leaner, more disciplined ones. The land will go to a people who will follow the moral Law of God. If you dislike seeing demographic changes in the nation then fight against the moral-liberalism which is eroding our liberties and rights, not against people who seek a better life for themselves and their families.

Great. I will spend twice as much on "Don't Shop Day" to show my support for Bush and avoid the crowds at the same time.
