DON'T SHOP DAY!!! (In protest of the upcoming Bush Amnesty)
Grassroots Effort ^ | American Patrol

Posted on 12/30/2003 10:55:22 AM PST by libertylass

"DON¹T SHOP DAY" IS CATCHING ON!! COMING TO TV!!

A major TV media outlet will do a story on the January 12th -- "Don¹t Shop Day." They have asked for an interview tomorrow!!! SEE http://tinyurl.com/3h5gn

WE NEED TALK RADIO TO DISCUSS THIS ACTION! We need you to call those talk shows!

Remember these talking points:

WHY?

A. Bush political advisors tell him voters have NO PLACE TO GO to protest his amnesty plans since all the Democrat candidates support amnesty. (See: http://www.washtimes.com/national/20030906-120054-6125r.htm)

HOW?

B. Since they think we have NO PLACE TO GO, we should let them know what they are up to by GOING NO PLACE on January 12, 2004, the first day of Bush¹s visit with Mexican President Fox in Mexico City. In other words, don¹t shop, don't go to movies, etc. Stay at home!

NO ONE IS HURT--

C. This is not a boycott. There will be no real economic damage to anyone, just a demonstration of our ability to protest. It's a win-win situation!

THERE IS NO SPONSOR--

D. While American Patrol is supporting this effort, there is no official sponsor. It is a true grassroots effort.

WHAT AMERICANS ARE SAYING:

Here is just some of the email feedback:

+++++++++++++++++++++ Everyone is really getting the word out. I think it's going to have a big impact. -- Along the same lines I think we should add: Make No Bank Deposits that day. Do not pay any bills (from the 9th-12th), and no online shopping either. -- Sincerely, Shanna in Arizona +++++++++++++++++++++++++ I did a search for historical events for the days between now and Jan.12th when President Bush will meet with President Fox, and the day when hundreds of thousands of Americans will not do ANY shopping. Tomorrow is the anniversary of the Pledge of Allegiance.

Tuesday is the anniversary of the U.S.- Mexico border. Wednesday is the anniversary of the opening of Ellis Island. We will add another day: January 12, 2004 - the American people protested illegal immigration with their pocketbook. Barbara V. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The no shop day on 1/12/04 could stop Bush dead in his amnesty tracks if it catches on, and I very much think it will. My friends and family are spreading the word fast. The media is always writing about the great economic clout of the Latino lobby to make driver's licenses and Latino benefits happen. This could be a demonstration of REAL economic power that could upstage Bush/Fox in Monterrey Mexico on 1/12/04. This Bush-amnesty counter-measure is a brilliant idea. Suddenly we don't have to be observers watching our citizenship, sovereignty, and laws being thrown away. L.B., Riverside, CA ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

And that equals legitimizing criminals, rewarding lawbreaking and encouraging others to do likewise. I mean, h*ll, why go the legal route when you can jump the border overnight, get all kinds of freebees (well free to you...the dumba*ss American taxpayers will foot the bills), get all kinds of political clout, AND get a pay under the table job to pour money back into the MEXICAN economy

Wrong. It provides a legal means of recognizing workers in the country in certain circumstances. Why don't we actually wait for Bush's plan before we have a fit. Of course I'm talking only to the people that are scared to death of Mexicans -- you people can freak out.

"No, guard the border and focus on assimilation."

These people, in my experience, have no desire to assimilate. Already it is getting harder to get a job in this country if you don't speak THEIR language. Personally, I resent these aliens coming in here and making demands on what Americans work hard for while at the same time imposing their culture and language on us. I see it as the same kind of affront as if someone managed to get into your house and he refused to leave and law enforcement wouldn't remove him and the powers that could force him removed, require that you now support him at your own expense and the expense of your own family and after awhile, he started inviting other members of his family to live with you too and you had no say over it.

I'm sure the woman from New York who was gang raped by 5 illegals after her boyfriend was beaten unconscious will find comfort in that.

One case does not a trend make. Would you feel better if the people who gang-raped her were WASPS?

True enough -- mass deportation is simply not going to happen. The only solution is to secure the borders the best we can (which is a helluva lot more than we're currently doing), reduce the welfare statism and freebees that attract many illegals up here to begin with, don't allow ANY immigration for at least a couple of decades (except perhaps from 1st world nations), and do our best to Americanize the millions of both illegal AND legal third worlders currently here. It's our only shot to keep our culture (relatively) intact.

I'd feel better if they were dead.

The fact is that if we had been doing something serious to stop the influx of illegals it's possible that they would not have been here to rape her.

Ever hear of MeCHA?

Sure, they're an organization comprised of loudmouth third-tier college professors and students from the lower ranks of Southwestern state colleges. They have about as much real power and influence as you'd expect such a group to have.

Just two questions: 1) What is wrong with Bush's plan for amnesty? 2) What is the alternative solution.

Okay, for the slow learners:

a) "Amnesty" plans NEVER WORK. Been there. Done that. Have those T-shirts. Worthless. All you get is MORE illegals. Been proven over and over.

You ask "what is the alternative?"

It should be PAINFULLY obvious. Even to you. ENFORCE THE LAWS AND SEND THE WETBACKS PACKING BACK TO WHEREVER THE HELL THEY CAME FROM, BE IT "MEHICO", IRELAND, GUATEMALA, BENIN or wherever the hell else they are skating in from taking OUR jobs and OUR money and OUR sovereignty.

Sheesh.

Supposedly a visa or a green card would have somehow prevented that crime.

This isn't about the fact that they are Mexicans, but that they are lawbreakers who have no regard or respect whatsoever for the country whose teat they are attaching themselves to. And it is about the lawmakers having no regard for the will of the people that they are supposed to represent.

You must be hiding under a rock. My High School age daughter couldn't speak spanish so she was denied a job at the mall! How's that for one example. I suggest you contact Terry Anderson at www.theterryandersonshow.com. He's a local black talk show host (870am-Sunday 8:00-9:00 PST) and ask him for more examples. There are thousands that cannot get jobs, especially in the construction trade and the restaurant industry.

You don't understand the plan. Out of curiosity what job did you lose?

I keep hearing the President respond with "I am against amnesty.">>>>>>>

Just a *spin* on words.......

He's 'thinking' LEGAL STATUS (or some other hyperbole) is *not* the word amnesty.

But it IS the same action, and the results will be the same.......MILLIONS more will come for their 'reward'.

Thanks for the info.

However, on another thread with a Frontpagemag article, this is what I found:

''I'm not saying make them citizens,'' Ridge said. "They violated our laws to get here. You don't reward that kind of conduct.''

Yet, the Frontpage article tries to create some semblance of an argument as to how this will definitely lead to them being actual citizens, which is a pretty pathetic attempt to read made of pure guess-work.

Once the President's plan, not one from McCain etc., is proposed, then we can argue about the PLAN ITSELF and whether it actually proposes amnesty or eventual citizenship, or simply allow the folks to work for awhile in jobs that we would not want. Of course, speculation about how it may eventually turn into citizenship won't be convincing then either. Actual legislation text will have to be used to prove such.

They have about as much real power and influence as you'd expect such a group to have.

California's Lt Governor, Cruz Bustamante, was/is a member of MeCHA. I say was/is, because he definitely was a member in college, but now says he is no longer affiliated with the group.

That stay home protest they staged? The streets and stores were practically empty. It was wonderful!

They have huge power and influence over Latino college age students! They are negatively influencing them with regards to American History, and take-over idealogies. M.E.C.H.A. hates gringos. M.E.C.H.A. is a racist organization that is heavily funded. Never underestimate those who mold the minds of our students.

Anyone who wants amnesty for illegal aliens is corrupt, mentally ill, or a traitor.

Yes and it makes very clear that Bush is against blanket amnesty and will seek a policy to match employers with employees. Which I would imagine would require the employer to prove they cannot employee inside the country.
