DON'T SHOP DAY!!! (In protest of the upcoming Bush Amnesty)
Grassroots Effort ^ | American Patrol

Posted on 12/30/2003 10:55:22 AM PST by libertylass

"DON¹T SHOP DAY" IS CATCHING ON!! COMING TO TV!!

A major TV media outlet will do a story on the January 12th -- "Don¹t Shop Day." They have asked for an interview tomorrow!!! SEE http://tinyurl.com/3h5gn

WE NEED TALK RADIO TO DISCUSS THIS ACTION! We need you to call those talk shows!

Remember these talking points:

WHY?

A. Bush political advisors tell him voters have NO PLACE TO GO to protest his amnesty plans since all the Democrat candidates support amnesty. (See: http://www.washtimes.com/national/20030906-120054-6125r.htm)

HOW?

B. Since they think we have NO PLACE TO GO, we should let them know what they are up to by GOING NO PLACE on January 12, 2004, the first day of Bush¹s visit with Mexican President Fox in Mexico City. In other words, don¹t shop, don't go to movies, etc. Stay at home!

NO ONE IS HURT--

C. This is not a boycott. There will be no real economic damage to anyone, just a demonstration of our ability to protest. It's a win-win situation!

THERE IS NO SPONSOR--

D. While American Patrol is supporting this effort, there is no official sponsor. It is a true grassroots effort.

WHAT AMERICANS ARE SAYING:

Here is just some of the email feedback:

+++++++++++++++++++++ Everyone is really getting the word out. I think it's going to have a big impact. -- Along the same lines I think we should add: Make No Bank Deposits that day. Do not pay any bills (from the 9th-12th), and no online shopping either. -- Sincerely, Shanna in Arizona +++++++++++++++++++++++++ I did a search for historical events for the days between now and Jan.12th when President Bush will meet with President Fox, and the day when hundreds of thousands of Americans will not do ANY shopping. Tomorrow is the anniversary of the Pledge of Allegiance.

Tuesday is the anniversary of the U.S.- Mexico border. Wednesday is the anniversary of the opening of Ellis Island. We will add another day: January 12, 2004 - the American people protested illegal immigration with their pocketbook. Barbara V. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The no shop day on 1/12/04 could stop Bush dead in his amnesty tracks if it catches on, and I very much think it will. My friends and family are spreading the word fast. The media is always writing about the great economic clout of the Latino lobby to make driver's licenses and Latino benefits happen. This could be a demonstration of REAL economic power that could upstage Bush/Fox in Monterrey Mexico on 1/12/04. This Bush-amnesty counter-measure is a brilliant idea. Suddenly we don't have to be observers watching our citizenship, sovereignty, and laws being thrown away. L.B., Riverside, CA ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Oh no, I went shopping before I saw your post. Do I mess the whole thing up? How about we reschedule for tomorrow when I wasn't planning to shop?

Wow it only took 165 posts for someone to answer my question. Good post.

It's not just Bush. It's all these other politicians as well. Maybe, at least they will know we are aware of their treachery.

No, it isn't just Bush who's sold us out. It's his willing accomplices in the House and Senate and the GOP leadership who stay silent on the matter... or worse become converts to his madness.

My own "representatives", from school board to Congress are all Democrat Raza-Nazis who'd love nothing more than amnesty, so they don't have my vote anyways.

I like some of the things Bush has done, but I believe he is softly pushing forward the one world agenda.
Bush SR. advocated one world government and I don't believe the son is that far away from his father.

What 'good rant?'

That would be the one where you ran screaming to the Admin Moderator to have it pulled. No where did I see Karen999 advocate the machinegunning of women and children. She got fed up with a poster who says he doesn't care about Kalifornia. Guess what, some of us do care. Some of us are tired of listening to crap from people who don't know how bad it's getting here.

I never said I was pro-amnesty. I asked a question because the article asked for a boycott without any explanation. The problem is the rhetoric about planting land mines, gunning down people at the border, Azlan, Mecha, and mexican gang rapes is absolutely predictable on these threads.

It took 165 posts for someone on the side against amnesty to post a logical response.

I suspect many more immigrants will be coming. Technically the "handover" is illegal and thus the need for an "amnesty".

The idea that millions of unskilled/uneducated laborers are going to be able to replace Joe Americana successfully is a pipe dream. We are simply relocating the slums of Mexico to various locales here in the US.

Perhaps we should be encouraging educated eastern europeans or asians to "immigrate" instead. Our trade policies however do not favor immigration from better educated populations because we are enriching their homelands enough to warrent staying put.

No offense to the good (former) citizens of Mexico, who immigrated legally, but the literacy rate is much better in other parts of the world. America needs educated "huddled masses" not Pedro's looking for a handout.

"Stop making sense, they hate it when you make sense and refute their arguements it makes them mad."

In all the time I've been on FR, I've yet to see them make any valid argument. There are none. It really is that simple.

GOD this is so frustrating. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

My intent was to differentiate between the flow of illegals across the border on the one hand, and the people that are already here. Each has it's separate, legal, social and other aspects that have to be addressed. Your frustration caused you to miss that point.
Complete control of the borders will likely require a major expansion of government (military, Coast Guard, INS, Homeland Security, etc., etc.) and large tax increases to pay for it, even if done in phases, (e.g., the southern border as a first phase....).

I seriously doubt however that they were anything other than point makers.

There is a huge difference between Pennsylvania Germans speaking their native language in early America, and wiping out our native English language now through forced illegal immigration.

The standard idea for the immigrant population (note: legal immigrants) was to learn the native English language. Many households did not encourage their children to speak their native tongue OUTSIDE of the home. They respected this country enough to learn it's language or to at least make it clear to their children that it was a necessity.

According to your thinking, I hope you already know the language. I don't, and don't feel I should. I think they should learn OUR language. What a concept!

The problem is, can this country pull up its pants and get tough?>>>>>>>

*Most* Americans are tough.......*most* American Pols are not.....we need to MAKE them get tough.

See # 165 for some good idea's.......*if* we had a need for some 'min. wage' earners, we could revise the welfare system & allow some of the 'moms' to WORK & get a check.

Most people feel better about themselves when they actually EARN what they get.

I've just been trying to get a consice response from the people that don't support amnesty (as to how to stop illegal immigration) and she's the typical kill all immigrants and bomb the border poster that lurks these threads.

When you come up with a workable solution, you have my vote for president.
