Parents outraged after son finds bullets in Christmas toys
ABC13 Eyewitness News (12/30/03 - MONTGOMERY CO.) A Montgomery County father received a nasty surprise when he looked inside one of his kids' new Christmas toys.
When Jason Burson opened his son's Lego Bionicle, he found 29 live 22-magnum bullets mixed in among the parts. The discovery frightened him and made him angry. He contacted the Porter Wal-Mart where he bought the toy and Lego.
"I'm not in it for the money, really, I just want to find out who did this, and see them get justice," said concerned parent Jason Burson. "Because it could be a very, very bad thing that somebody could get hurt."
Lego says this is the first time such an incident has happened, adding that Bionicals are weighed before shipping, and anything unusual is rejected. They are conducting an investigation.
Wal-Mart says it will also investigate once the Bursons file a formal complaint.

Only a liberal or a metrosexual would complain about free ammo.

Bet he grows up to be a metrosexual, if Darwin doesn't page him first.

Only a liberal or a metrosexual would complain about free ammo. Haha. I see from rereading, that it was only the father complaining. I don't see a word about the child's reaction. There's hope yet.

this has got BS written all over it.
No way an automated packing machine in China inserted live US ammo.

It was the Dad got scared.
What's the big worry? There wasn't a gun in there too. Geez what a wussy. I gotta wonder though, knowing how these toys are packaged, there isn't much room for other stuff to be packed in there.
Sounds to me like someone planted the bullets knowing full well there'd be a big anti-gun outcry.

Have him go back & purchase the part that shoots the bullets.

he found 29 live 22-magnum bulletsWell, unless the kid swallows them, or tries to light them on fire, ammo is pretty harmless. I can think of worse things to find in a toy.
Of course, we all know a "bullet" is not "ammunition", but a component thereof. I'm assuming this fellow was complaining about complete 22Mag cartridges.

Only a liberal or a metrosexual would complain about free ammo. It sounded like a great excuse to go buy a 22 magnum rifle to me. (Honey, we can let this perfectly good ammo go to waste!!)
To: Blueflag
Yes indeed. This is clearly some nutcake who opened the toy and then threw some ammo in the box kinda like that woman who tried to sue Pepsi over something she found in a can AFTER she opened it. (Turned out she was caught on camera slipping the stuff into the can right after she opened it.) I'm no friend of Wal-mart, but I hope they countersue this @$$#01e.

And while he's at it, get a Red Ryder 200-shot BB gun for the kid: he WON'T shoot his eye out. . . (g)

this has got BS written all over it. No way an automated packing machine in China inserted live US ammo. I looked at the Lego website. Plants in US, Europe, and Japan. None in Chine (good for them). And I agree - something stinks in this story.
