We brought our children to the airport, going back to Germany. Never, ever before we went that fast through all security before, like today. It was all done in an hour - driving from the suburbs (Alpharetta) to the airport, dropping off the children and back on the road to head back home. All that in -1-!!! hour!!!!! The security check waved us threw... One guy was checking, 4 other guys where sitting!!!! at the side of the check-point. Do you know, how much the states have to pay for extra security, when it is leveled to this where we are right now??!!! I heard something about "8mill a w e e k" for the state of Georgia. That can't be accebtable, for no state it can be! What better things could be done with this amount Like I said, we have a lot to pick up and bring back to the airport!!! We never ever had such an fast and easy way, covered under this special high security level, ever before.

My question: Why this very costly extra security levels.....???!!!

We're in the midst of a war for the survival of civilization as we know it.

"Why not send half of the troupes over the border to help in Iran!!!!

That would send a message all over the world, especially to the Islam-world!!! (sometimes wishful thinking)

Take the time to pen a concise, detailed description of your experience to the proper officials at the airport, cc your congressional rep and senator. Not everyone takes this stuff seriously. Your report may help the situation. The guys just sitting around may not feel like sitting after the supervisor gets done with them.

Even in the military, there are those who are lazy or complacent. I could not imagine walking by a sentry who was not standing a proper watch, without squaring him/her away. On the flip side, if someone informs me that guys from my ship are not standing a proper watch, they will feel the pain.

Or, you could do nothing at all.

Get hassled at the airport and people aren't happy. Don't get hassled at the airport and people are still unhappy. I do see your point though...

I'm just mad as hell, because we
very often drop off or welcome people from the airport. We always look up the Internet, about travel time!!

This time, we just took an extra hour, just like they told us to do!! These security people just sitting there and doing nothing made me mad. I thought, they cost a lot of money, for what....please, I need an answer!

Has Tom Rich to prove his existence, by bringing always nonsense threats.

It was the 5th time this year............

It's not getting hassled at he airport!
I'm just asking, why spending all that money for (par example) taking an old woman out of her shoes, or a baby out of it's pampers(I saw that).
Isn't it overreaction, or is it spreading fear all over the people??

Fearful people are easier to control..........!

I know I have down time at my job when the pace slows a little. Perhaps, you were there at a slow time of day?

If you try to "square-away" someone, they will probably tell you where to go...

My advice to you is to pick up a good book. A dictionary would be a good start. Later, you can advance to newspapers and bone up on current events.

Easy. It makes people "feel" like they're safer. Whether or not they really are safer is irrelevant. It's all about appearances and psyching out the public. Also it puts a few hundred thousand more people on the public payroll which will join AFSCME. Even if they are sitting around doing nothing, it will be nigh impossible to fire them--they're protected by the union now.

Poor baby. So sorry you were inconvenienced.

But who's Tom Rich? Richie Rich's dad?

I don't think they're expecting anything to happen in Georgia -- looks to me as if they are focusing on the Northeast & Vegas.

We were up & down I-95 all during the Christmas break, and I didn't even see as many state patrol on the road as usual. I guess they are somewhere, but I haven't seen them.

If you read my post, my comments regarding squaring away a sentry, were in a military context. I can assure you, no one is going to tell me where to go....

Challenging someone you have no authority over is not likely to be greeted with compliance on their part, rather a defensive reaction, like you suggest. That's why I recommended a different course of action in janett's case.
