It's worth finishing. The writer addresses just that:

Then a small snippet of the truth, something liberals have no connection with, began to seep out. A picture of Corrie in the middle of some Palestinian children setting flame to a crude drawing of the American Flag surfaced. There was a look of sheer hatred and ugliness on her once pretty face.
