First Patrolman said find a screwdriver when you get to a motel. The next one acted like we were armed and dangerous! And that's why it's a bad idea to have so many laws, and vague ones at that.
It's good for the lawyers, politicians, and bureacrats and jackboots in the police department.
But it's bad for the rest of us, and the honest cops out there.

You've made 7 posts on this thread, and 3 of them have been flame-baits aimed at me.
I'd suggest that you either head on back to the Canteen, pretend to be pious on some prayer thread, or else find a newbie to argue with. I'm not playing your little games tonight.

You are aware that terrorists may be infiltrating flight crews, so the pilot with the gun may be al Qaeda? See the little problem with your "solution"? I see no problem whatsoever. If Al Qaeda infiltrates flight crews, with or without guns, the plane will go down.

Nope, no bleating here. Ignore them if you wish, it's none of my business.<p.However, you do KNOW about the laws, which was my point.

The guy I traded my lawn mower for a firearm threw in a couple hundred rounds of ammunition too.
Oh my goodness, I'm a regular jail-bird wannabe ;^)

It's against the law to walk down the street while reading in New York City
In Owensboro, Kentucky, it is illegal for a woman to buy a new hat without her husband trying it on first

No need. I have excellent comprehension skills, and I see he was not mocked *for* carrying a gun. It was pointed out to him that that alone and in and of itself is not sufficient defense for the country. A very valid point that so far has gone completely unaddresed while the inaccurate portrayal you cite was ballyhooed by the whiner.

As long as you know where I stand on stupid laws, I have no problem with your acquiesence to authority.

Thanks for posting factual laws here, pal.
It makes reality a little more real.

They better do an extremely thorough vetting of the marshalls as it is. The air marshall program was largely initiated for PR purposes so more folks would fly.
They had trouble meeting the numbers early on, so they lowered the standards significantly. Including the marksmanship standards.
More than one air marshall has left his firearm in the airplane restroom. One was suspended (no criminal charges). I don't know what happened to the other one.
Another had a negligent discharge of his weapon in a hotel room.
And another was turned down twice from joining the Philadelphia PD for flunking the pysch exam. This same Air Marshall later forced passengers aboard a domestic flight to hold their hands over their heads for the duration of a flight since one passenger had said something he didn't like. He also singled out an Indian-born retired army officer for harassment.
And I know anectoditally (sp) that of 5 cops that left their departments to join up, 4 were asking for their old jobs back within weeks.
Then there was the 2-week period where many of them got fed-up with the long hours and staged a "sick-out".
And let's not forget that one of the directors of security (a retired Army General) was FIRED by Bush for getting pissed off that planes with cabinet officials were getting air marshalls, while those without cabinet officers, but posed a bigger threat were not getting them.
The program has been a massive failure, but the gov't will never admit it.
If it were up to me, pilots, police officers, and those with CCW permits would be able to fly armed.
That would be much cheaper and more effective than the current approach.

Couldn't resist this one:
Georgia has a law prohibiting people from saying "Oh boy" in public.

The guy I traded my lawn mower for a firearm threw in a couple hundred rounds of ammunition too. Good for you... all off the books.
BTW, not only are we supposed to obey ALL of the edicts, it's also a crime to "conspire" to violate them.

I would not want to have to sit thru a prosecution of the Clintons.I would! I would!!!
Sorry, just could not resist. I really would love to sit through it if we had really capable. clear-headed, plain-spoken, righteous prosecutors who would not shy from what would need to be done and be able to withstand the attacks that would be hurled their way.
sigh
