I am inside Iran now.... Yes
Most Iranians love Americans and do not know them as infidels.
To: Khashayar
I'm so sorry for your tragedy. Prayers for all of you!
To: Southack
I feel incredible sadness and compassion for the Iranian people. I can only imagine what it is like to be there right now. I would open my heart and my pocketbook if I could be certain that the help would get to the people. My heart is open, my pocketbook is hesitant.
I do know that the Iranian people are freedom loving and oppressed by an evil regime.

Mostly want the USA to back them in order to overthrow their mad Mullahs.
To: Khashayar
Have you heard from all of your family. I do hope they are safe. My only question is what can we do for you? Prayers have been started since the disaster happened.

in the longer term, how can we help Iranians who want freedom -- without putting them in danger? Better articulated than I 18F...

Do you know if they are looking at villages that are on the same fault line, outside of Bam? Are they all right?
To: Khashayar
Millions of Americans are hoping and praying for the Iranian peoples' freedom. Thank you for offering to answer some of our many questions.
I wonder if this earthquake will help the forces of freedom in Iran. The Chernobyl disaster and how it was handled made many Russians question the Soviet leadership. That was the beginning of the end for the Soviet Union. Do you believe that the earthquake in Bam could possibly destabilize the Iranian government? Could the mullahs' poor preparation and clumsy handling of the situation make most Iranians turn against them?

No matter our differences, no one here wishes such sad scenes upon your nation as seen in your post #20.

Gentlemen, please remember Aesop's fable: you don't talk politics when you are saving a drowning man. Bump to that. ....But the threadmeister seems to be offering to answer any and all questions about Iran, not about its recent disaster.

Thank you for the reply, I should have been more sensitive to the disaster at hand, please excuse my rudeness.
My prayers go out to you, and all affected by the disaster in Bam.

I have a friend who is Iranian American or American Iranian if you prefer, whose father fled Iran right after the Shah was overthrown. His father almost didn't make it out of Iran. I am happy he did because if he didn't, I wouldn't have my friend.
I know that is irrelevant to the conversation but cool none the less.

Mostly want the USA to back them in order to overthrow their mad Mullahs. Good. Those SOB's are on their last legs. My greatest concern is if they attempt take the whole region down with them when the go (by using WMD). Hopefully we can pre-empt such a plan.

The "good" people of Iran are in my heart and prayers.
I am sorry for what has happened to the people of Iran.
I am wondering what is being reported in your country. Is word getting out to all the people in Iran that the World is coming to your aid, during this difficult time?
Is the Iran government controlling the foreign aid workers who are now there? are they letting them freely roam so that they can help the people of Bam by letting them go to Bam and work from there or is the government bringing the injured to them at an assigned guarded area, because the government is worried to let the foreign aid workers roam freely?
