Steve Davis was let out of his car, which his wife was driving, on the Hwy 71 near Joplin, NO. His daughter was driving her car behind them, and was supposed to pick him up. Instead of doing so, she whizzed right on by him. The wife got home and realized that Steve was not with them. Steve has not been heard from since being dropped off the Hwy 71 early this morning in the Joplin, Missouri area.
Can any you Joplin, MO freepers help to find him? The Mother is wanting to hear from him!

A lot of the truckers in that area take Alt 71 and go north to Carthage area junction with 44. See
herefor a map. I would try Neosho motels and the Carthage junction motels.

Could you post this to the Missouri and/or Arkansas state boards?
I can't seem to post to the Missouri state board for some reason and, of course, couldn't post it to the Arkansas state board.

So far up to 10:55 am CST, we still haven't heard a word. Footstomper (Steve's mother) appreciates all the prayers and please continue them.
She stayed up all night waiting by the phone and tracking the FR.

Scanners are an excellent way of knowing what's going on in your neighborhood. Before we left a large city, we voted for a NEW COMMUNICATION SYSTEM for our 911 emergency services. It was so updated, that we could no longer listen to the scanner. When the citizens complained about it, the cops said that citizens don't need scanners, and that it can put the cops in harms way....because the bad guys listen too.

This mystery has a thing or two in common with the story of another missing man (also on FR) a few months ago. In that incident, the man was found! Also, in that incident, I got the feeling that the wife wasn't keeping her mother-in-law up-to-date on everything happening. So maybe, just maybe, there are promising developments that not all the family knows about yet. Hope so!!

Thanks for getting word out.
Anyone know if LE or the media is on this?

LE was notified and the family was told that, basically, nothing could be for 24 hours. The missing persons reporting period. (see earlier in the thread)
Not sure about media. I know that several people advised them to get the media in on this but I'm unsure as to what the family has done in this regard.

Another poster said they upadated their community as well the problem was the older volenteers could no longer hear for calls over the scanner.
Sure came in handy for the guy that hauls water for us this morning to hear road conditions via the county road workers and one main road was cloased due to a live wire on the round also bar reports since we live on the bay/ocean. My sons best bud fishes/crabs and he listens for his boat.
