Bush Diplomacy

The admission by Gadhafi that he has been working hard to develop weapons of mass destruction, combined with the revelation that Libya was much closer to reaching that goal than anyone had believed, is a double whammy for Bushophobic Democrats.

Now America is beginning to win wars without firing a shot. Few people have been as reflexively hostile to America and its values than Moammar Gadhafi, the sixty-one year old Colonel who effectively made himself dictator for life of Libya in 1969. The ripples of this victory are profound. The admission by Gadhafi that he has been working hard to develop weapons of mass destruction, combined with the revelation that Libya was much closer to reaching that goal than anyone had believed, is a double whammy for Bushophobic Democrats. No one can still deny that weapons of mass destruction programs exist, and now it appears that President Bush was dead on target about the proximity of the threat. Waiting until Libya had the means to incinerate Milan, Marseilles or Madrid would have been a first class disaster. Bushophobic Leftists who pretended that the president misled Americans by alluding to yellow cake Uranium from Niger may soon face ultimate humiliation. Libya is a huge nations whose borders stretch deep into western Africa and Libyan archives may confirm suspicions of British intelligence sources. Will Dean et al. suggest Gadhafi is a Republican stooge?

Gadhafi, simply by publicly stating his opposition to terrorism, will disrupt the whole shadowy world of fanatical terrorism. The Colonel will doubtless turn over some real secrets to show his good faith. He will also stop any detectable support for terrorism. More profoundly, Gadhafi has become officially neutral in the war against America. In two years, Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya have been taken off the global chessboard. Al-Qaida and state sponsored terrorists are losing, not winning, the war. Champions of defying America like Hussein, bin Ladin and Gadhafi are captured, hiding or surrendering. This must make the Kamikaze fighters of Marxist-Islam feel used, bitter and foolish. They were, apparently, fighting and dying for the vanity of some cowardly and selfish men.

Geriatric "revolutionaries" have stayed in power with the same combination of lies and brutality that their predecessors used. These "revolutionaries" now have no moral authority at all. Who will be the next to go? Castro? Iran's mullahs? Each old gray monster gone makes the other wrinkled murderers less secure. Throughout the savage world of global Leftism, men like Mugabe and Assad must be reviewing their personal strategies. Opposing America used to be fun, simple and safe. Now it seems to be high stakes poker with the odds strongly against you. Libya also changes the oil equation in geopolitics. Although its proven reserves are less than Iran or Saudi Arabia, Libya still has vast amounts of oil. American petroleum technology in Iraq and now in Libya can substantially boost world oil production. When the Iranian people oust their old, mean mullahs, then Iran will also begin producing much more oil. Plentiful, secure and cheap oil will help the industrial economies. The reduced threat of terrorism, combined with easy oil, will keep the global economy growing. Prosperity always creates pressure on Leftists, who need misery to justify their demands for power. The white flag flying over Tripoli also is good news for Israel and anyone else honestly interested in Middle East peace. Two nations in the region, Iraq and Libya, will not be rattling sabers at Tel Aviv now. As money and political support dries up for Arafat and his murderous subordinates, the chance for genuine quiet grows. Gadhafi may also reveal much we suspect but cannot prove.

What has been the role of France and Russia in the effort to keep America from becoming too powerful? We know that some British politicians are effectively traitors, but may we also find some American politicians who are traitors as well? We know that CNN neglected to mention that Hussein was torturing its own employees in Iraq so that the network could continue to broadcast "objective" journalism from Bagdad. What more might we learn in the next six months? Leftists better start hedging their bets or, better yet, cashing in their chips. They are losing fast.

It is about time that the USA started twisting the arms of some of the thuggish Dictators of the world, rather than beating on Israel.

Quadafi is wised up. Perhaps (As I posted elsewhere) he was made "an offer that he couldn't refuse." I suspect that is the case.

The Dems are in trouble now, and a strong leadership, willing to invoke American might against our enemies, is exactly what this Country needs. The alternative is a series of 9-11 type of events.

The Dems are so over. The fun part is that they act as if they don't know it. Expect to see a lot of Dems opting for retirement after the coming debacle next November.

But of course .. one of the first comments I heard (from Kerry I think) was that this was proof that we didn't need to use FORCE, we could negotiate.

These people are impossible.

Qadaffi is fooling the world and I hope he is not fooling the US into thinking it has achieved victory with these state. He is a terrorist. He continues and will continue to pursue weapons of mass destruction and is working to purchase nuclear bombs (as the Israeli PM said a month ago). But, these latest fake actions will simply allow him to reenter the world system, with a false and lying face, and make it look like he has turned good. It should work for him because afterall it worked for Yasser Arafat.
