No progress can be made in the Mideast while Yasser lives. After he's finally out of our misery, peace is still pretty iffy but more possible. Iran signing a pact for UN inspections means nothing whatever except that the mullahs think they can hide it better.

When President George W. Bush declared war on state-sponsors of terrorism, I realized how courageous a stand he had made for America. But I saw the world as being 50-50 for and against us.

By taking a stand, though, we reduced the world to perhaps a dozen countries who wish us no good--five or six of which were truly rouge states that were a strategic threat. Still, to invade six different countries?

That is why Libya is such a big win--on the heels of defeating the Taliban and Sadaam. Now the three remaining rouge states: Syria, North Korea, and Iran; don't look nearly so scary and monolithic. Each is having to worry about us a lot more than we worry about them. And I think that over the next year, each will show significant movement towards us--at least in regards to terrorism and WMD. North Korea may still be crazy, but she's not stoopid.
