Her name is Maxine Waters....and what a LOUD MOUTH she is!
You are doing him no favor by not insisting he be measured by the same standards he applied to others.
Go back and read my posts. I AM measuring Rush by the same standards he applied to others. I think it's unfortunate for him, but I firmly believe that Rush has no one to blame but himself and he ought to step up to the plate, take full responsibility for his actions, cooperate with LE, accept the consequences, and get on with his life. That's my ever so humble opinion, and it seems that THAT has pretty much been his opinion as well, when it came to the actions of others.

In New York's Central Park jogger case, the confessions of five Harlem youths were key to their convictions. They were questioned for 14 to 30 hours before confessing - but the interrogation was not videotaped. They were exonerated in December after DNA proved that another man had raped the jogger. I sure hope you don't believe the "five Harlem youths" were not involved in the attack. The press is making them out to be choir boys, but I doubt it. My understanding is that their confessions were corroborated by facts which uninvolved persons would not know.

You can't mean to say the media made these other accusations up without any input from the prosecution.
To: AbsoluteJustice
And I' msure this prosecutor, who is a conduit to the local newspaper, which the newspaper admits, is going to start right now to obey the law. Right.

"AbsoluteJustice" has been nursing his losing arguments on this thread for the last 8 1/2 hours."And we now know he is doing it on someone else's dime.

"You can't mean to say the media made these other accusations up without any input from the prosecution."
Accusations ?
What accusations were made by the prosecution ?
If there are any accusations by anyone except the Clines - yes, the media made them up.

An investigation is what they're doing, and he is directing his lawyer to challenge the legal release of crucial evidence in that investigation. They already saw his medical records. They already know what's in there.
"But the cat could already be out of the bag: Limbaugh later said on his radio show that prosecutors had ignored his request to keep the records sealed while he appealed and began "rifling" through them Tuesday. "They couldn't wait; they had to open them. The elected state attorney himself ordered it. The state's attorney, Barry Krischer, personally ordered it from what we're told and his investigators began rifling through my medical records," Limbaugh told listeners on his show.
If his medical records become legally and officially unsealed for the DA, wont that eventually make them public record after the dust has settled?
Fine, we can all complain about a smear campaign, but all of you are calling the prosecution aspect of this "persecution."
It certainly is beginning to take on the smell of one.
Rush of Arc.
I did earlier qualify that with if he is indeed guilty. But then letting the DA see the medical records could easily show his innocence on the doctor shopping charge.
The DA has already seen the medical records.
We already know he's guilty on the structuring charge (what you call "money laundering") because he admitted it.
No, we don't know this. He admitted to taking out less than the 10 thousand amount, because as he said, he was advised by his bank to do it that way. And restructuring is not money laundering.
It depends on who the prosecutor is and what his motivations are. It seems this prosecutor wants to bury Rush under the jail even if Rush walked into his office with an offer of a plea bargain.
No way the DA could get away with it.
We're talking about a Democrat DA here with Limbaugh in his sights. Whether or not he could get away with it remains to be seen, but that wont stop him from trying. This guy could become a hero to his party if he gets Limbaugh one way or the other. I'm wondering just how ambitious this DA is.
IIRC, first offense doctor shopping is only a misdemeanor in the first place, and the structuring was not done for the purpose of money laundering and it's likely he didn't know it was illegal since he was doing it at the bank's suggestion. Since he's not otherwise a criminal and has already admitted addiction and cleaned up his act it's likely he wouldn't get more than probation in a trial anyway.
That's assuming he's guilty of any crimes. In any case, I'm sure it will be of great comfort for Rush's enemies to have him convicted of ANYTHING. Even a minor conviction that results in only probation.

Interesting, he doesn't mind if Rush's prosecutors use an possibly illegal tactic to find out if Rush broke the law, but "Absolute" stealing a full day of work from his employer is no problem.

I bet the state looked at teh records BEFORE they were "sealed". The windown was used to conceal that fact.

Where are the drug possession/trafficking charges then? What does possession of Oxycontin have to do with money laundering?
To: AbsoluteJustice
You can't tell people to get a secomd opinion and then agree with the state for going after people who get second opinions.

"Do you remember which post of his this came out?"See #333 on this thread.
To: Yaelle
Why couldn't the charges be reduced for him like they are for others? They could; but Rush isn't like the others. This one would be all over the news.
If it goes to a plea agreement (and that's an if) politically --the prosecutor can't look like he caved in to the "right-wing" with a misdemeanor plea.
So any deal probably will involve dropping the more serious charges, money laundering & trafficking, yet keeping the least serious but symbolic felony: Doctor-shopping.
Whether Mr. Limbaugh will agree to plea guilty to a felony is another if.
Just my reasoning, guessing, and opinion, FWIW.

Thanks.
He may be telling the truth about being slow. He's an IT weenie, and those guys don't think anything needs to be fixed.
They also think the rest of us have no idea about anything, after all, he can spend whole days cruising the Internet "learning" stuff.

So, the media just came up with the money laudering story on their own? You are giving them a lot more credit than is due if you think they could dream that up without being fed some information from the cops/prosecutors.
And further, if you think any information they mine out of Rush's medical records, whether related to their investigation or something completely irrelevant, you are incredibly naive. And please don't say that he could sue them if that happens.

Are you in a hurry to see Rush in an Orange Jumpsuit ?
This investigation has been going on for over a year allready with arrests - Rush appears to be a small part of it at this time. But don't you worry - his time will come...
