Oh please, there is no appreciable difference between the Republican party and the Democratic party. They are both for nanny government, just in different areas, and the things done by (and not done by) the recent republicans in power have left much to be desired.

The differences are absolutely huge as the Iraq War and Bush tax cuts have shown.

The differences are huge on some things (like the ones you mentioned) and minimal to negligible on others. Still, the WOT and tax cuts are extremely important issues, and reason alone to vote for Bush. I'm an advocate of attempting to make the GOP less nanny-statish from the inside rather than "teaching them a lesson" (which never works anyway) from the outside (by voting for another party/candidate).

The war has been prosecuted brilliantly, with the exception of Bush's shabby treatment of Israel. The tax cuts were a pittance, a penny in the hand of a peasant boy from the hand of Rockefeller, given before a crowd to prove his generosity.

With those exceptions, what's the difference? PLEASE tell us.

If Jefferson and Madison were alive today, they would be publicly executing incumbent politicians in the streets of DC.

"The differences are absolutely huge as the Iraq War and Bush tax cuts have shown."

Does not excuse McCain Feingold, does't excuse the travesty of the judges being confirmed, it certainly doesn't excuse the Medicare Package,... those things are pure liberal, and I don't care who is signing them, they are wrong.

I'm not party blind. I have my own morals and litmus tests and Bush is not measuring up. You do what you want, but you are insane if you think THIS is the conservatism that the country was founded on.
