I think it's always a possibility, unless we hear otherwise. But Iran does have a lot of quakes.
To: Grig
Now, that is, and we don't know if it is true, a most interesting theory.

Can you find out how populated that area is freedom?

To: Grig
No.
A Nuke test would be much, much smaller.
It's a quite seismically active area.
Sometimes and earthquake is just an earthquake.

Iranian people lit candles after 9/11 only to be ruthlessly attacked by the regime, one died that night. The only show of sympathy towards the US in the Mid-east.
That takes more than guts, it takes balls of steel. Iranians gave their lives to show sympathy that night. while some keep giving credibility to Iran's regime.
We should separate innocent Iranian lives from the Terrorist regime.

Any chance this could have been an underground nuke test? No. Large man-made explosions of all types (nuclear, non-nuclear, etc) have a distinctive signature that is quite a bit different than earthquakes. To a seismologist, a nuke looks nothing like a normal earthquake.

Thanks for the update ... prayers for the souls in Bam.
Prayers also for the brave Iranians trying to put the 1970's genie back in the bottle.
