Didn't Atta spend some time in Vegas? I recall something about a coordinating meeting with the other hijack pilots a couple of weeks before 9/11.

I have questions. 1. Why was no one held or arrested? 2. Did anyone show up with a weapon?. 3.Was the flight cancelled because of a rumor or because of good info.4. If the info was good there should be arrests forthcoming. My understanding is that the French detained and questioned some people at the urging of the US...and then released them.

I wonder if the French crew would have handed over the controls without a fight. Sounds like our government thought so.....

One of those who did not appear for the Christmas Eve flight apparently is a trained pilot'...
Those interrogated were selected because they were on a list of names supplyed by the U.S. Another man, a Tunisian national with a pilot's licence, was on the U.S.'s list of suspects.
French intelligence officials determined the man was in Tunisia, had no plans to leave, no criminal record, and no known history of associations with Islamic militant groups.

yeesh he needs (yet again) to take that stupid red and blue light special down.
this is hardly breaking matty. I heard someone call into a talk show yesterday morning talking about being glad they weren't going to be in vegas because of the threat.

Sorry, but this is definitely not a win in our column. The terrorists escaped to do it another day.

If the info was good there should be arrests forthcoming. You have to remember that we're talking about France here. The same France that won't cooperate in the prosecution of Moussaoui by sharing information with us.

Another reason they might have targeted Vegas is that there is a hugh influx of Jewish people into Vegas at Christmas.

Didn't Atta spend some time in Vegas? I think that's where the lapdancers got mad at him. Maybe this plane crash into Vegas was a result of revenge against the strip club lapdancers.

Because it happened in France? They didn't want a hostage situation? The French are snail sucking cheese eating surrender monkeys?
To: salbam
You forgot this:
In all seriousness, this makes sense. It would destroy the economy of that city and devestate air travel for two more years. Now the question is, did this person get access to a cargo plane. God help us if he or she did.

French flight crews probably don't need Sara Brady's pemission to be armed, or to resist. But do the French know that?
