Now I am repeating my self.
Never mind.
I seem to be too deeply embedded.

Some of them did show up and board didn't they? Some didn't, so the concern is, where are they now?

Mohamed Atta meeting in Prague with Iraqi Counsel Al-Ani. Since Ani worked as a case officer for Iraqi intelligence, the liaison implied a connection between the hijackers and Iraq. You know, don't you, that Al-Ani was captured in Iraq 7/2/2003 and there were more stories about him and Atta at that time.
Also, the connections between Atta and Baghdad were further cemented in stories that broke that same Sunday that Saddam was captured.
Since then, stories about two terrorist training camps just outside of Baghdad also mention Al-Ani and Atta's involvement. One of the sites was called Salman Pak, and satellite photos showed a Boeing jet where terrorists trained to take over jetliners.

Because we appear to have given sensitive info to the frogs
Could the "suspicious passengers" identified by the US be a con to see what the French would do? Just a check on whether they are any nearer to coming around or whether they, the French, are leaks (collaborators) and still can't be trusted? *sigh* Their food, wine and countryside is so good; why do they have to be so rotten?

My father's theory is that the French are paying off AQ. and are therefore a source of income for them. It wouldn't be the first time a bully extorted money from a weakling.
hoosiermama, my Magic 8 ball and I are thinking along similar lines as your father (I think!). The EU may be European but it ain't no union, IMHO. Could AQ's (& France's) issues with the US be analogous to the Palestinian (& Arab Nationalist) issues to Israel? Are we in a proxy war with France (and others), fighting on the economic war front and terrorism warfield?
France would not attack the US directly but would they be willing to have someone else - just as willing as they are but infinitely more competent and with their own reasons - do the dirty work for France?
My apologies to my personal French friends, as well as to our (US) French friends but France (their leaders) are just acting so....contrary. Doesn't bleeding, dying, failed Socialism do that sometimes?
(P.S. I was given a copy of "The 60 Greatest Conspiracies of All Time" for Christmas as a joke so when the "special eggnog" wears off, I'll probably email everyone on FR individually for this post...). (Additionally, my apologies for using the word ain't. Again, it is the "special eggnog" talking...heh heh heh).
And, please...do not ever show this post to Monsieur hummingbird....he's not too happy with the "Conspiracy Book" gag gift as it is!

Just curious....is this a norm for the Government with a Thursday Christmas? IOW, is my tin foil hat shiny enough?
Don't know .. but it sure does raise an eye brow.
I've never worked for the government - at least not that I know of - but have worked for companies that will, at the last minute give the next day off because they know you won't be doing jack all day long except for complaining about having to work. *g*

Here is the flight path from Paris(ORY) to LAX
This path flies almost directly OVER Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, and Winnipeg, and that is the most likely reason the W.Post picked Las Vegas as the probable target. (the plane would be OVER L.V. about 40 minutes BEFORE the scheduled LAX landing time)
The 747 would most likely carry about 10% more fuel than it needs to make the 5677 mile flight. If it were diverted earlier in its flight, it could reach other cities as well, with even MORE fuel. The jet passes within 15 minutes of Denver. It passes within 30 minutes of Minneapolis (Mall of America) And within 60 minutes of Chicago (Sears Tower)
I think Chicago would be too far out for this to succeed because interceptor jets would be scrambled in Wisconsin.
If al-quaeda WAS strongly interested in bringing down the Sears Tower, I think they'd hijack an LAX flight out of Toronto on a weekday, and when we least expect it.
Our homeland security knows to seal off the airspace around any bowl games - they are no-fly zones, and any planes hijacked or veering off course in those areas would trigger an interceptor response.
The extremely big events like the Rose Bowl or New Years events will already have jets in the air and circling.
I think Hoover Dam and L.V. are both pretty secure as well due to the Airforce base protecting them both. The dam probably also has SAM installations too if there is any chance something might slip past our Airforce.

Since Aeromexico was also stated as an Al-Qaeda target,
heres an example of an Aeromexico route:
nonstop Mexico City to Paris

You sure like that Great Circle Mapper site don't you ;)
To: f7Oshawn
Just use a globe and a string from point to point and you will see that the flight path, will pass thou Las Vegas from france--not rocket science!!
