Two and a bit years ago I was a macrobiotic eating delusioned liberal canadian....
I found free republic by accident while looking for some info on 9/11. I became addicted to the articles and comments by the many intelligent people on these forums.
I have been brainwashed.
Thank you. =)
ps. i'm still canadian though. heh.

I learned the French are weasels and why,
I know their feet and cheese both stink,
Their drawers and their belly's are yellow
and nobody wants their stinking wine (whine).

:)
Ash alert is a nickname for a disruptor that use to return under a variety of handles. A former regular named don morgan use to ping the admin moderator and yell "ash alert!" whenever he suspected the disruptor returned. :)
I can't find any examples except for a brief mention of the situation in the following thread. (ash alert doesn't have anything to do with ashcroft)

Post number 18 on that thread explains it. Here's a copy..
"Ash - a former liberal disruptor (see glossary) on FreeRepublic who posted under the screen name Ash or several variations thereof. He was at times witty, and his provocations occasioned some spirited and persuasive conservative apologetics on FR. Former regular freeper Don Morgan would post "Ash Alerts" on any thread Ash was suspected to be repying to. Find a discussion of Ash Alerts here."
This is pretty cool..just found it on the same thread..click for FR lexicon
