SOUNDTRACK: Messiah, Handel (40kb midi) |
ISAIAH 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
|
Luke 2: 11 - 14 AND LO, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people!
|
FOR unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord! And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. |
AND suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying: |
GLORY BE TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST AND ON EARTH PEACE GOOD WILL TOWARD MEN! |
|
Let us lift His name on high and lift our hearts to our Savior.
He is the light, the love and the truth and he shall REIGN forever and ever.
May His light shine brightly on you and yours during this blessed celebration!

Oh yes, and it is the BEST NEWS OF ALL!!!!!!!
We just listened to an original 1955 recording of Giancarlo Manotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors. The lyrics and voices bring me to tears every time I hear it and I am no opera fan. A mother's love, a faith in powers unseen, the Grace of God, and a kindred spirit among all in the sight of the Lord, regardless of station.
Well, The Bible tells us that John the Baptist was concieved "In the course of Abijah". (Luke 1:5) One can extrapolate that Zacharias was probably in Temple duty around June at the aproximate time John the Baptist was concieved. 1 Chronicles 24:7-19 tells us Abijah had the 8th course of 24. Keep in mind ALL preists were requires during some Sabaths to kill the thousands of animals required at "Pilgrim Sabaths". Then we see in Luke 1:26, it was 6 months later Jesus was concieved. So if we look aproximately 9 months after that time we get around Sept-Oct. That would coincide with Rosh Hashanah,Yom Kippur, And the Feast of Tabernacles. It make sense that Jesus was probably born at Tabernacles because the Light of the World was the main theme of the feast, and swadling cloth was set fire atop poles to represent "The Light Of the World". Also, John 1:14 tells us He became flesh and "dwelt" among us. The word "dwelt" is better translated as "tabernacled", and is the only time in the New Testament it is used. Also, John 1:9 tells us He is the true "Light"given to all the world. Is.49:6 points to Jesus as the Light to the Gentiles and to all the world. The Feast of Tabernacles is the only Jewish feast dedicated to all the world, not just Jews. The reason God declared the Jews keep the Feasts in the first place was to mark the significant times in Jesus' life. December has no such significant feast days.
It is not mandatory to know when Jesus was born to be saved, but December 25 is a blatantly pagan day. The Winter Solstice, Yule log, evergreen trees, and giving of gifts, are all pagan ideas. So, the traditians of men enter into our worship again, as Jesus warned us about. The reason God never changes anything, and demands we keep His commandments, is to prove who He is. The more we study Jewish religion, customs and culture, the more we can find out about God. The Jews were "chosen" to reveal the oracles of God, whether they believe or not. The 6 days of creation and 1 day of rest are important to God to show His plan for the world, not just to keep from selling beer on Sunday. Speaking of Sunday, why is it the 4th Commandment is the only one we feel no guilt in not honoring. In Exodus 20:8-11, He explains this Commandment more than the other 9. Why? I believe so we won't fall for the lie from the bowels of hell called evolution.
Now we can have a thread that lasts through New years, with 5000 posts pooh poohing "fundie"s". hehehe
Because some of us don't believe the visions of "Sister Ellen G. White," said visions starting after she was hit in the head with a rock. Then again, having Seventh Day Adventist cult propaganda on this thread truly isn't surprising.
