I don't know what affiliate you're watching, but here in Atlanta (as well as on both my NY & LA CBS feeds), Letterman isn't on tonight.

CBS is carrying a Presbyterian Church service from Oregon.

Watching Nashville news on CBS right now, waiting for Letterman.
They were showing troops with the 101st arriving home today.
What a Merry Christmas for them and their families!

And it's wonderful that Letterman is in Baghdad to bring some cheer to troops who have to spend the Holiday over there.

I just checked the CBS website, and it that Letterman will be pre-empted tonight as well.

Yeah, Boston's CBS channel will be showing midnight mass as well.

Sucks, but way to go, Dave. You are by far the best.

I saw a snippet of this on Fox News. Letterman stated:

Saddam Hussein was captured. The last world leader caught in a big hole was Bill Clinton.

That's a paraphrase, but the general idea.

...photo of Letterman with the soldier in the hospital...

Hmmm...visits to the wounded...maybe no one can "replace" Bob Hope,
but maybe Letterman might be on his way to standing in his place...

Merry-Christmas ping to y'all...
and a TV heads-up in case Letterman is on tonight in your area (and not pre-empted
by XMAS shows)

just thought you might appreciate Mr. Letterman and his visitation, especially the
photo with the wounded soldier (post 3)...
maybe Dave is slowing evolving into the next Bob (Hope).

Please no flames on that! I feel like I'm being sacreligious (sp?) even
suggesting someone could move into Hope's spot!

The local news channel covered part of David Letterman's visit to the troops in Baghdad. Letterman did some of his jokes and stated how lucky he was to be born in the USA. Letterman went on to tell the troops how they were "making the world a better place!"

The local news channel covered part of David Letterman's visit to the troops in Baghdad.

This thread lifted my spirits...then I crashed and burned later...
...seeing how I ran into the same censorship that "mhking" had in post #4.

I rushed home to try to catch the Letterman show (with the Iraq visit clips (and
THE TOP TEN LIST!!!)...
and what does my local CBS affiliate (Channel 2) here in Gawdless Los Angeles do?
There was some broadcast from some freakin' Presbyterian Church in Salem, Oregon
"presented by CBS".

I was screaming at my TV...not only do I NOT get to see Dave, Biff and even Good-Canuck Paul
bring a bit of joy to our best-and-brighest in Iraq...
suddenly my local CBS "we value diversity" channel decides to become the conduit for
the (AFAIK) liberal branch of Presbyterianism.

Any other day of the year, this CBS station wouldn't be caught dead doing
any religious broadcasts...other than any sort of secular/agnostic/atheist culture!!!!!

If I've got time, I'm going to send an e-mail to CBS Channel 2 and to CBS New York
and tell them they are fools if they don't re-broadcast the Iraq Late Night episode.

Excuse me for venting...but this did really tick me off.
