I think I heard something about that.

I also heard that he threw his medals over the White House fence in some sort of protest but didn't realize until he went to hang his own medals on his office wall that he must've accidentally thrown somebody else's medals over the fence by mistake.

I'm confused about the constant references to Kerry's wife being the heir of the Heinz fortune. I recently wrote to the Heinz company and got this reply: (Yes, the name of the PR person, is real)

Hello Mr. R:

Thank you for your note. I wanted to take a moment to respond to your inquiry.

As a company, Heinz takes no position on this issue. (the issue I wrote about was the use of the "f" word)

However, as you may not know, Senator Kerry does not, nor has he ever, had any affiliation with the H.J. Heinz Company. Teresa Heinz, the Senator's wife, also is not a member of our board and has no affiliation or link to the management of the H.J. Heinz Company. She was once married to Senator John Heinz, who was the great-grandson of our founder. Hence to occasional media reference to Heinz Ketchup.

Though recent media reports have confused many people, it is important for me to reinterate the Heinz family has no role in the management of the H.J. Heinz Company.

As the makers of America's favorite ketchup and a host of other trusted food products, we place a high value on all of our cusotmers. Therefore, we hope you will reconsider your decision to avoid what you have said is your favorite ketchup.

Regards,
Robin W. Teets

Oh, no, no.....you must be mistaken. Kerry would never exploit his Vietnamness. He's much too principled for that. Shame on you! /sarcasm

They are hoping that you are ignorant, which you are not. Just send them a photo of yourself, enjoying a burger, with Hunt's ketchup.

J F'n K has got to be kicking himself, - marrying for money and then - no ketchup money for him.

I'm really enjoying the primaries, I'm sure you all are too.

(Hey -- how bout some Lurch or Herman Munster pics? Can someone help out? thanks)

Well, in fairness to Mr. Effing Heinz, he didn't realize he was exploiting his Vietnamness until some insolent reporter noticed his medals hanging on his office wall.

You know, kinda like how Howard The Duck didn't realize he was exploiting his brother's death by suggesting that his brother was a Vietnam POW when it turned out he was actually just a civilian touring Laos when he disappeared.

Yep, anyone could make that mistake. It's so much less trivial than, say, Bush I failing to recognize a supermarket scanner.

His wife can't give him tons of cash, but she can pay off the mortgage after the election.

Campaign finance laws say he can't use her money to pay it either. He has to pay it himself or rely on donations to his campaign to retire this debt. So he has to come up the 6.5 million dollars anyway to clear this debt.

Nowhere in that letter from the Heinz Company does it say that Teresa does not own any stock in the company, nor that she doesn't profit from their sales. So we can probably safely assume that she DOES own stock.

"This is conclusive proof that Kerry does not know how to handle money."

I think it's serious proof that he cannot handle his mind. Can you imagine how he'd handle the stress of the presidency?

God has saved us from this dufus-brained wannabe who could donate all that mortgage money to the "Make a Wish Foundation" instead of desperately trying to crawl to the top of the nine other candidates of significant squalor.

Blessings to all in the new year,
Penny

This mortgage is a typically deceptive politician plan. His wife can't give him tons of cash, but she can pay off the mortgage after the election.

According to this New York Times article, In giving his money to the campaign, Mr. Kerry can access just assets he owns or holds jointly with his wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, whose fortune is estimated at $500 million. She cannot legally contribute more than $2,000 to his campaign or pay off his loans. But she can make independent expenditures on his behalf, as long as she does not coordinate with him or the campaign.

Of course the idea that she would not coordinate with him or the campaign is ludicrous, but that's campaign finance law for you...
