MSNBC just announced that three flights from Paris to the U.S. have been suddenly cancelled due to "security concerns". The first flight was scheduled to depart Paris heading for Los Angeles.
I could not find an article yet.

Based on all I've read in last couple of weeks, I'd say there is a good chance these flights were the first wave, fully loaded with fuel, planned to hit LONDON . . .I hope you are wrong. I plan to fly there tomorrow. Just wish I could get this horribly bad feeling about this trip out of my mind... but I can't.

they been infiltrated a long time ago ... hence the large uproar over the head-covering thing ...

You're confusing the Marquise d'Lafayette, who was a friend of Washington and great aid to the cause of American independence with the Louisiana pirate Jean Lafitte, who aided General Andrew Jackson in the defense of New Orleans in 1814.

called the land of Lafayette "the enemy".Lafayette is dead. So is the France of his time. It's too bad, but it is true. I wish we had the France of Lafayette on our side, but we have the France of the socialists against us.

Checking the AF website, in addition to the non stop flights, there are flights going through Cincinnati and Atlanta; most of which appear to be delayed "due to technical concerns" FWIW...Hmmmmmmm
Highlighting your post.

"Once upon a time there was a thread about three French flights to LAX being cancelled . . . does anyone remember that thread?" Consider this: Free Republic, a conservative American site, is the perfect place for conservative Americans to express themselves, even expressing opinions that are anti-French.
How dare we you say? How dare we be upset that France sabotaged us and stabbed us in the back? How dare we *express* our outrage?
We dare. We're Americans. We're free people. We express ourselves. Get used to it, you might even come to appreciate it :-)

If every bad premonition I had about a flight had come true, me, my children, and my family would have been dead several times over. Don't worry.

You are correct, I did get them confused. I always had a soft spot for Jean. Thank you for educating me on that. I'm series. ;-)
To: HungarianGypsy
No, that was Jean Lafitte.

So they were planning to take out Santa's workshop? Those bastards!!! =)Yes, yes, it all makes sense now!
The will wipe out the North Pole and Santas workshops. Then when Santa comes tonight theyll fly low, behind his sleigh in order to fool our radar. Well never be able to pick them up on radar.
Youre right, they are dirty bastards!!

I've made anti-French comments myself, when they seemed appropriate to the thread. But, as teacher used to say, I think it's better to stay "on point," and I thought the anti-French stuff was losing sight of the topic, and then was further morphing into discussions about neo-cons, Israel, etc.

Fox reporting the Homeland Security has issued a statement saying due to the heightened alert and nature of the security issues involved, they cannot elaborate at this time on details of what their concerns precisely were/are.

I had read on a site earlier today that the US had obtained information relating to flight information. I can't remember where offhand, only that I was searching through the homeland security and steven quale sites. Maybe the cancellations are related to that information. If anyone's interested, the cancelled flights are: (1) AF060, which departs from Paris, charles de Gaulle (CDG) - France - Terminal 2E at 1:35PM, scheduled to arrive at LAX - Terminal 5 at 4:05PM with no stopovers; (2) AF070, which departs from CDG, Terminal 2E at 7PM, scheduled to arrive at LAX, Terminal B at 9:30PM with no stopovers; and (3)dddTN102 (An AirTahiti Flight) scheduled to depart from Auckland/Papeete. Since FOX NEWS just announced that 6 flights from France have now been cancelled and one or more from LAX to France have been cancelled, you can get any other information you may be curious about from the Air France website.
