MSNBC just announced that three flights from Paris to the U.S. have been suddenly cancelled due to "security concerns". The first flight was scheduled to depart Paris heading for Los Angeles.
I could not find an article yet.

give up already..
your posts a neither factually correct or sensible. You've lost the ability to reason and are clearly outnumbered.
Cut your losses and jump out of this thread. What do you have to gain anyway?

Nope, it's me who belongs on a conservative website, not people who want to use America's military to further Israel's interests (Wolfowitz, Perle, Feith). Those are neoconservatives, and they're welcome to join a website of their own. I'm on an American website.

Screw France and the French people. Given all the divisions we have here at home it is amazing how folks view European nations as though all citizens speak, think, and act alike.
I've spent a fair bit of time in Europe in the last couple of years, mostly in Germany, Spain & Scandanavia. People that I've met are as diverse in their views and opinions as what we see here in the U.S. Folks would do themselves some good to spend some time in that part of the world before making broad generalizations about their views.

"French people suck! I hate France! I am a smart person! "Why? Because the French opposed the war in Iraq, which many American conservatives opposed as well?" A few American conservatives opposed war with Iraq. About 80% of the French people opposed it. Those are not comparable. France is responsible for Her actions. And Her actions caused there to be a war because Saddam saw that there was no unity among the Security Council members and so he thought he could survive. If France (and others) had stood with us, Saddam could have been taken without a shot being fired.
Perhaps you think that is no big deal. I, and many others, however, do not. I am glad to see people expressing themselves, even if (maybe especially since) it is not PC. Perhaps a French site would be more to your liking...

I dont know that much about the flight paths. Some help please.
A flight from Paris to LAX would over fly ALL of the US. If the terrorist took control of the flight on the east coast they could fly the plane anywhere in the US?
So Los Angeles itself wouldnt necessarily be the target but the flight could divert quickly over its flight path??
What do you think??

Re:
The enemies are the neocons who've taken over the foreign policy of the conservative wing of the executive branch and twist it to Israel's interests. Oh, perhaps we should make everyone in Israel wear little yellow stars on their chest. Would that be more to your liking?
From your tone, me thinks you are anti-Jewish rather than Conservative...

Fox News just had on their 'crawler' that Thursday flights from France had been cancelled. I assume it meant all flights tomorrow.

Once upon a time there was a thread about three French flights to LAX being cancelled . . . does anyone remember that thread?

Important how?How have they been an important ally in the last 30 years? As for fighting side by side...remember in WW2 whose country had been taken over by the Germans. It wasn't America. AND...
The Vichy French, the French stooges for the Nazis, used the French navy to attack U.S. forces landing in North Africa in WW2. They didn't just surrender either, as is their custom. They destroyed their own remaining ships when it was clear the U.S. Navy would defeat them.

So lighten up and lay off and be nice to French people! Why? They're an incredible pain in the @ss. Their sense of self importance is astounding - particularly given their performance in the past 150 years.
By the way, it wasn't that they opposed the war that was so irritating. It is the fact that they actively worked against us and continue to support 3rd world dictators. What's the only European country that still fawns all over Mugabe?
France has gotten off far better than it deserves.

Decision made by French gov per CNN infobabe.Due to a direct request from the US embassy. A "request" that was probably along the lines of, "If you let the plane take off, we won't let it land in the United States. And if any of them so much as enters US airspace......"
To: Lurking in Kansas
That sounds pretty reasonable. I have family driving from SLC to Phoenix and they are going to stop over in Vegas. Maybe they shouldn't go that route.

I typed "Flights Cancelled" making it sound like all flights, when it was three at this point. You should be sorry. You got all of our hopes up that ALL Frenchmen were banned from the country.
To: aquaculture
Please...the french had nothing to do with stopping these flights...it was the US that had to ask the french to have them halted. Where is that "great all knowing french intel"? France will not join the WOT until they get hit themselves. They believe it's an American problem. I really hope no massive attack happens in france, but I fear that is the only thing that will wake them up to the reality of our situation. Stop giving safe haven to terrorists france, and come join the winning side. Why is Saddam's wife living in Paris? How about Arafat's wife? Why do you make deals with Iran, Iraq, Syria? You are not our friend. Friends don't stab friends in the back.

Paris to LAX would spend more time over Canada than US IMHO , pretty much come over the pole.

Not Israel -- Americans who work to have American foreign policy serve Israel's interests.
Remember, Richard Perle was caught in 1970 giving classified information to Israeli agents while he was working for Senator Scoop Jackson (a democrat, people). As in, Richard Perle, the guy who planned this war.
People, this is a DEMOCRAT war in Iraq. It's pure social engineering, planned by Democrats in Republican clothing. Don't tell me I'm a troll -- I'm the most conservative guy in the room.
