Billie, this is the MOST beautiful thread. Thank you!!
Hope it's not to late to say to everyone here at the Finest: Merry Christmas!!!
Sons are home for the week, and between them, the activities, and my husband on vacation, I'm just not online much, but thinking of you and all you do and mean to me & FR.

Dinner will be served at 5:00. Please join us.Billie, I'm sorry I was unable to show up for dinner.
Ok, that's not completely true. I was able but was afraid you'd drop one of those mushroom-shaped cookies on my plate. :-)

Awww, you embarrass me with your kind words. :-)

That is such a beautiful message, Maggie. As usual your heart shows through with such clarity. It has indeed been a blessed Christmas. Even though we got word yesterday that Jack's last remaining aunt passed away yesterday morning, and it looks as if Uncle John will join her before long, still we feel blessed because of the nearness of two babies. One is the Babe of Bethlehem whom we worshiped in a beautiful candlelight service at church last night. The other is the babe growing in our daughter-in-law's womb as we watch it's progress in a series of ultra sound pictures. It has brought two families closer together. Her family shared Christmas breakfast with us in our home, and we shared Christmas dinner with them in their home. It made for a lovely day without overburdening anyone. So we are counting our blessings. Besides I got to talk to my favorite Sistah yesterday for a few minutes before my doorbell interrupted us so rudely.

A very sincere 'Welcome' to you!
Many of us on The Finest are veterans, and Billie created this thread specifically to honor them.
It has since been expanded to honor All Things Finest - persons - holidays - war dogs - each of The United States of America are being featured - etc. - and always do we lift up our President and our military forces, wherever they might be, with prayers...
We look forward to your being among us daily.

Now my day is REALLY complete, Sistah Nan..:))
I've been on the phone with a call from Steve, my older son in Florida, for nearly an hour, and now here you are!
It has been such a delightful year, the Lord showering us with blessings, one of which was getting to spend time with you and Jack. Life-changing, it was..:))
Need to gear down and get ready for the nighttime routine.
{{{{{ Hugs}}}}} for everyone!
