SEATTLE, Dec 23 (Reuters) - Meat from a cow with the deadly mad cow disease may have already been eaten, possibly in the form of hamburger, Washington State Deputy Director of Agriculture Bill Brookerson said on Tuesday.
Asked at a press conference if it was possible that the meat had already been consumed, Brookerson replied: "It's possible."

Now every case of the quite rare Cruzfeldt-Jacobs disease will be blamed on "mad cow" BSE, as it was in England.

Judging from the recent comments by the nine dwarfs, I'd say some of that beef was served up in the green room at the last debate.

I doubt this will be nothing more than a scare, from what I have read so far, there is little chance this will result in anything more than a quarenteen of that particular farm.
When all the handwringers dump their shares in the beef industry, I'm gonna be buying all the shares I can

I thought they said it was used for animal food? they lied!... No, they said that the "muscle cuts" had been processed and vCJD was not transmitted by muscle cuts.
Translation: Although we did find the contaminated Holstein, it was 14 days after slaughter, so even though the meat had probably already been eaten, I'm serving beef over the holiday, even though my goose has already been cooked.

there is little chance this will result in anything more than a quarenteen of that particular farm. Thousands if not millions of head of cattle will be slaughtered and their brains tested for vCJD.
