She still hasnt said shes running, but Katherine Harris may get drafted into the race for the U.S. Senate seat Democrat Bob Graham is vacating.
According to a recent St. Petersburg/Miami Herald poll, 29 percent of Floridian Republicans back Harris, putting her ahead of both Bill McCollum, with 16 percent, and former HUD Secretary Mel Martinez, who pulled 11 percent.
However, 38 percent were still undecided, leaving the Republican side of the race anyones to win.
Martinez recently shared a stage with his potential rival and George W. Bush when the president signed the American Dream Down Payment Act, which Harris introduced in the House.

Why hasn't Speaker Byrd, the courageous author of Terri's Law, caught on in the FL GOP Senate sweepstakes?

Isn't there a FR rule about Katherine Harris threads having pics on them similar to the Ann Coulter threads?

Mel Martinez would be a disaster. Bill McCollum wouldn't be bad, PROVIDED that they agree that Katherine Harris will be given the inside track next time around. But I'd rather see Harris elected.

This is a typical Limbacher article excerpting stuff from another article and trying to splash it as headlines he is involved in/with.....
This poll he is citing was done back on Dec. 1-3 using 336 Republican voters...... This was well before Martinez announced his resignation of HUD on Dec. 9 which was effective on Dec. 12.....
So I'd not put much credence in this story at this time as the dynamics of the Florida race will change at the point in time Martinez announces he's in it, assuming he does run. I personally hope Harris stays put just where she is for this go round.

Oh and the article did mention Klaymer... but gave no polling data.....
[snip]...The other candidates are House Speaker Johnnie Byrd of Plant City, state Sen. Daniel Webster of Winter Garden and Miami lawyer Larry Klayman...[/snip]

There is no better candidate than Harris, and she is more conservative than Martinez.

Let's see. She's conservative, she's classy, and she's hotter than hell.

We'll see when the rubber begins to meet the road.... Harris brings tons of controversy to the race and that isn't needed this time around. Name recognition is good but it can also be negative. I'm not in Florida so I don't know the ins/outs of what the locals are thinking..... Maybe you do, if so good.
In either case I'd support her if she gets in and wins the nomination but I don't think she's going to take the plunge. The primary isn't until Aug. 29, so any candidate with money has time to develop the name recognition. Martinez just joined a large Law Firm with several offices around the state and with some 300 attorneys.... helps immensly with name and money
