The problem I see here...is that the Muslims will claim that no German should wear a cruxifix either....and that type claim...won't wash in Bavaria. Bavaria will succeed from the German union if Schroeder attempts to put Catholic items on the list too. My guess is that this will end in the EU court and the Muslims will win. There is a EU rule about respecting one's religion....and I think the EU court will weigh in on both the German and French cases.

Look over here! Muslim women wearing headscarves! WE MUST DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM!
(Economic problems? What economic problems?)
LOOK AT THESE WOMEN WEARING HEADSCARVES!!!

Finally, somebody is doing something about these headscarves!

There is a EU rule about respecting one's religion....and I think the EU court will weigh in on both the German and French cases. I believe the way the EU Court works is this: they ask France and Germany how the decision should go. Socialists are not big on written law and court precedence. From the time of the French Revolution, the Socialists have based "official decisions" on what the Big Dogs want. THAT's what egalitarianism is all about.

Finally Germany and France find a foe they can deal with: Muslim schoolchildren.

The head scarves are not the problem. Its what the head scarves represent that's a problem.

The head scarves are not the problem. Its what the head scarves represent that's a problem. They represent only that those wearing them are adhering to their particular sect's interpretation of their holy book. To require them to remove the scarves, which pose no immediate danger to anyone, would restrict their freedom of religion. To deny them jobs as teachers because they wear these scarves would be to deny them rights of citizens because of religious belief.

I agree with everything you posted.
But you have to agree, it's fun to watch France and Germany squirm.

The logical end of all this is the end of all religion. Secular rulers don't like competition, and that's why the so-called 'separation of church and state' in our own country is so destructive to Christianity. Jesus said "
apart from Me you can do nothing", (John 15:5). So if nothing can be supported long without God's involvement then where does that leave our government, which seeks to separate itself from God at every turn? If people would rather serve man than God, God will allow it, but the price is getting heavy lately, eh?
" No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon." (Luke 16:13)

"To deny them jobs as teachers because they wear these scarves would be to deny them rights of citizens because of religious belief."
That would be fine with me! The West does not need these people as teachers. Just what are they teaching anyway?

I thought that old Europe was mature and sophisticated enough to handle and embrace plenty of diversity.

Just what are they teaching anyway? Most likely what's stated in the curriculum. There's not much room for deviance from the standard in the German educational system.

But you have to agree, it's fun to watch France and Germany squirm. It is fun now to watch them reap the results of earlier having pushed for higher European-level powers.

Finally Germany and France find a foe they can deal with: Muslim schoolchildren. Not exactly true. Schroeder has defeated one other foe...a hairdresser who accused him of dying his hair. Via a law suit.
No joke.

Freedom of religion in Europe is obviously dead. It seems there used to be another leader who wanted to curtail freedom of religion. I think his name was HITLER!

France, Germany & England are between a rock and a hard place
with Islam on the left & Judo-Christianity on the right.
