Did you ever hear Ted Turner ... back in the early 90s when he wasn't completely psychotic ... try to answer inquiries about the nuances of programming between TBS and TNT? Or, what his plans for the Atlanta Hawks or World Championship Wrestling were?

It was hilarious! He was like one of those Borneo tounge clickers. "Ahhh, phaaaww, my plan, awwwwww, way back ahhhhhh ..."

The answer was of course ... "TURNER BROADCASTING IS ABOUT INVENTING UNNEEDED CHANNELS SO I CAN UNLOAD ALL MY UNWANTED CRAP SPORTS AND COLORIZED MOVIE PROGRAMMING INVENTORY TO FILL 24 HOURS, THEREFORE BULLYING CABLE STATIONS FOR THE BEST PRICE AND CHANNEL POSITIONING TO MAXIMIZE MY ADVERTISING, KEEP CNN A GOLD MINE AND DESTROY RUPERT MURDOCH, THE TEAMS WHO BEAT MY BRAVES IN EVERY WORLD SERIES, THE GUYS WHO CHEATED SAILING, AND ALL THE GUYS, ESPECIALLY SUMMER REDSTONE .... WHO I KNOW ARE SLEEPING WITH JANE!

The guy had a big picture, but he sounded like Gary Bussey after dumping his bike trying to explain how the Wayne Rollins led Atlanta Hawks, the entire library of Francis the Mule colorized romps, a weekly showcasing of Rick Flair hitting Bobby Eaton over the head with a folding chair, and a 24/7 sports channel with no programming and a bikini-less Inga Hammond provided value combined with Time Warner's suite of Book Publishers, Weekly Magazines, Movie Studios, Record Companies and Cable Properties.

Gerald Levin explained the synergies, the franchise of CNN and the Movie Library. Turner talked about CNN's "reach" and his love of beef jerky and sailor hats or something. But .... Turner TOOK Levin, Time Warner shareholders, AOL shareholders, Worldcom shareholders ...

LOL I soooooo agree with you.
This is why I have always contended, CEO's do not run companies, they formulate ideas and direction. The high paid consultants run coporations.
