One afternoon, Mustafa Saied, a junior at the University of Tennessee, was summoned by a friend to a nearly empty campus cafeteria. The two settled themselves in a quiet corner, and Mr. Saied's friend invited him to join the Muslim Brotherhood.

Note the exclusionary nature and the withdrawal from all reference groups that was involved here. Not unlike any other cult. I've heard the same kind of commentary from former Moonies who have been de-programmed.

He says he still feels guilty about his years of extremism. After the Sept. 11 terror attacks, he co-wrote articles for USA Today and the Christian Science Monitor calling on American Muslims to raise their voices in support of religious moderation and the West. He worries that pockets of "venomous hatred toward Western society" persist on some campuses and in certain Islamic communities

Worshipping a false god in moderation or extremism is still a stupid endeavor. If it weren't for the fact that Christ and Christians are going to win in the end, this would be very depressing and disturbing. How so many can be sucked in by this false religion is baffling to me. There is no progress or hope within. It's just an empty vessel floating in the Sea of Us vs. Them. What a sad loss of humanity.

Good post. The U.S. Constitution gains another supporter, although it may be unwittingly.
