I think we just might see that.

If they did that, I would not want to be a Moslem in the U.S.

"All I can say - is that we should have a wave of B-52's fueled and ready - and if Al Qaeda manages to pull something off - we obliterate the region along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border."
And Tora Bora, as well. That entire region will glow for decades.

"There is no one specific threat here. There is no place or time to tie to this," said the senior federal law enforcement official. "So we have to take all this information and do analysis."Isn't this what we might want them to beleive, if we knew more?

Cry havoc! And let slip the Dogs of War!
That is what will happen if we are attacked again. Bush is not going to pussy foot around on this: He'll go for the jugular.

What's the Al Qaida target in Rappahannock County, VA? (A Drudge link mentions Rappanhannock as one of two 'rural locations' that are threatened.)
Is that a watershed area for urban populations, maybe?
To: TurtleTrap
"Uhhmm....so they DID know?"
They knew something was in the works, and they've admitted that. They just didn't have any specifics, or anything concrete to address.

unfortunately we do not possess the technology to do such a thing without killing the entire planet. The nukes we have are quite dirty- exploding several of them at the same time would overwhelm the planet with radiation- even if no one strikes back at us.You don't have a lot of knowledge about nuclear weapons.

I really am not feeling a bio-attack like anthrax or anything like that. I am of the opinion it will be another stunning shocker to watch on live TV again. This will only accelerate the onslaught against the terror-states. Woe be unto innocent Muslims!

A series of coordinated attacks would imply cells are working in concert with other, and that some are ready yet are waiting to execute. Both of which dramatically increase the risk of exposure, and neither of which Al Qaeda is likely to assume as a risk. If and when a cell is in place and ready, they will execute their plan.
This is just more crap from the LA Slimes, IMO.

"It has to be so bad that the lips of next two generations of wannabe Jihadists tremble when the try to speak the word 'America'."
I agree.

I read on another thread that Rumsfeld was called back from his Christmas vacation in NM...This is not good. Most likely when the threat level is raised to Orange senior government officials are required to return to their work. This is almost certainly a predefined set of actions rather than a specific response to this threat.

"Code Red will never happen until we are under attack. That is the only reason it is on the chart. We are technically on the highest color we will ever get to before an actual attack is going on."
Bingo!

Since 911, I have been of the opinion that
all countries which have functioning
madrassas and/or terrorist training facilities should lose one square mile of their capital for each major act of terrorism in the United States. In addition, every telecomunications and transportation facility and ports in those countries.
Give them something to occupy all that pent up energy simply surviving and we would see an almost instant elimination of world-wide terrorism.
There is something elementary about the recognition that this war-by-proxy will be successful only if we continue playing by their rules. That, common sense would dictate, should include the total prohibition of muslims between the ages of 15 and 60 from visiting the United States for any reason. Ever again.
Let Europe deal with them and prove to us how harmless they are.
