Did a politically motivated posecuter offer immunity for the more significant offense of blackmail, in order to try to prosecute the lessor offense of doctor-shopping?

My thoughts exactly.

Before 7am I saw Couric on local Channel WRC4 saying she would have Limbaugh's attorney on the Today Show to talk about this. I can't bring myself to watch the Today Show. Anyone have an update on Roy Black's appearance?

Look at the statement his network made yesterday. That he never "intended to sell drugs". That was a funny way of wording it. Something like all drugs were purchased only for personal use would have been much more conclusive.

Mr. Black added that the couple went to prosecutors, who granted them immunity, and The National Enquirer only after Mr. Limbaugh, the conservative talk-radio host, stopped making payments.

Immunity from what? Can a prosecutor really grant immunity to someone for blackmail? If I were the prosecutor, I think I might be getting my own lawyer.

the limited immunity was apparently granted in their drug dealing involvement with a pharmacy arrest. There apparently was no immunity in any aspect of rush's case.

Of course the maid has no immunity from the IRS.

I was thinking more along the lines that the pharmacist would report him.
