MOSCOW, December 22 (Itar-Tass) -- Russia has supplied to Moldova 10,000 tonnes of wheat in disinterested aid. The possibility of more supplies will be discussed in January, Deputy Prime Minister, Agriculture Minister Alexey Gordeyev told President Vladimir Putin.
Gordeyev said he had held a meeting with Moldovas ambassador in Moscow and deputy prime minister.
Moldova thanked Russia for the provided 10,000 tonnes of wheat. We advised to distribute the aid proportionately, including the population of the Dniester Region, Gordeyev said.
Moldova asked Russia for more wheat supplies.
We agreed to raise this question again in January, depending on the situation in the grain market in Russia, Gordeyev said.
Chisinau is asking Moscow for another 50,000-60,000 tonnes of wheat. On December 19 Gordeyev said Moldova was prepared to purchase from Russia 300,000 tonnes of milling grain on the commercial basis at discount prices.
What is that?
Sounds like, "here ya go, don't bother us again."
