Funny, I heard the president and this is DEAD wrong:"Notably lacking from the presidents statement, however, was whether the U.S. government would agree to relinquish control over Husseins trial to the Iraqi government or to an international tribunal consisting of independent judges."
President Bush has said the Iraqis are capable of handling Saddam's judgement. What's to misunderstand?

well. I think those 'deaths caused by the UN sanctions' is plenty good reason to shut down the UN!

President Bush has said the Iraqis are capable of handling Saddam's judgement.I heard the same thing. In fact, when I heard the president say this I was kind of surprised. Not that I think the Iraqis incapable, I just thought the United States had some legitimate charges against Hussein.

Notably lacking from the presidents statement, however, was whether the U.S. government would agree to relinquish control over Husseins trial to the Iraqi government The absolute minimum requirement for any person who chooses to write about current affairs should be that they actually pay at least passing attention to current affairs.

Gee, maybe we should turn the whole thing over to the NNPA and the Future of Freedom Forum. They obviously know so-o-o-o-o much more about these things than President Bush does.
