Scotch - no there's a real drink.

If this gets ratcheted up any more tomorrow, I'll be hitting the vodka martini stuff. Since I'm cooking Christmas dinner for a large family, having a large New Year's Eve party and helping a mother with back spasms, all while having my own (which this second glass of wine is definitely helping), drinking vodka martinis will definitely impede my housework schedule!

Peach...this is too funny. You sound just like I do. My parents live with me (both ailing). My three children and spouses, and six grandchildren will be here on Tuesday for five days. The tree is up and decorated, the house and yard are lit with lights. However, I have not yet wrapped a single gift (although I did finish my shopping today), I have not yet baked a single cookie, nor made any candy. In my neighborhood I am known as the "gourmet guru", so this is a bit of an embarassment for me. Christmas night, I am having all the neighbors in for homemade eggnog and appetizers....and I haven't done a thing about it yet. Methinks I must get off FreeRepublic and tend to my domestic duties. So much to do and so little time.

These darn terror threats will just have to wait until I can deal with them!!!

Funny how wine helps stop the spasm.

This surgery I just had the doc gave me oxycotin first time I ever took the stuff and it did keep me comfortable however I was on my feet most of the time so I would not have to get up and down to care for KV and my back really started acting up worst pain I have had in years and the oxycotin did not touch it. Nor has any other drug in the past. Excedrin is not bad. What I have found is wine and no not mixed with meds. is the only thing that gives me relief after the pool, stretching, resting ect.

I don't like any wine except Mondavi Chardonay any other wine or alchohol makes me sick.

I wonder about Rush taking Oxycotin for back pain. My back pain when at it's worse gets so bad that my legs just won't go at the end of the day. I have learned to adapt my lifestyle over the years and pace to control pain. The pool is wonderful for relief.
