God's blessing on Terri Schiavo and her family. May He soften the stony hearts of these judges.

I vaguely recall something. Someone told Terri they were going to kill her, and she reacted in horror, got visibly agitated. Does anybody know what I'm remembering, or am I just having a false memory?
Wouldn't that prove that she doesn't want to die?
To: my_pointy_head_is_sharp
I don't recall that, but someone else might know a source.

Does anybody know what I'm remembering, or am I just having a false memory? If I remember correctly, it was a doctor who told her over the phone. He, apparently, was secretly treating her over the phone. I think he told her to get up and start moving because "they" were going to kill her (remove the tube).
Maybe someone else remembers more?

I remember reading about that. Her parents were trying some kind of alternative therapy by phone, and the therapist told her that "they" were trying to kill her if she couldn't speak (my memory isn't perfect here) and she visibly reacted and (IIRC) tried to get out of her bed or wheelchair. Do a search on Terry and you'll get a lot of threads about her, with that info somewhere.

Sadly, Felos and a few on FR would read the article and conclude that this is about a 'talking carrot' ... or make that 'babbling carrot'. There are none so blind as they who will not see.

That's proof, then, that she doesn't want her life to be terminated.
There's going to be a new trial. Maybe her lawyer could introduce that into the proceedings.
I really wish the Schindlers would consider getting a new lawyer.
Thanks, FReepers, for confirming my hazy recollection.

There they go again with that potassium deficiency/eating disorder thing. Was there ever any evidence of either? Doesn't sound like the family buys this theory. The press keeps hammering the same old right to die arguments. The woman's 40, probably not even at half her normal life span, and ISN'T DYING, unless they let Mike too close to her.

Yes, it was a doc over the phone and the family was video taping the event. That in itself is inconclusive w/o other info.
What gives a clear indication that she doesn't want the tubes removed is the fact that she can comprehend her circumstances and did in fact procede to follow the docs instructions during her exams. There's a video of part of an exam given by an Ohio neurologist where she follows orders to track a balloon. The doc acknowledges she followed it on tape, but then testified she was totally unresponsive in court. The doc lied about her capacity to understand and follow instructions. That was to support the consenus BS that she is in a PVS. She is not. The PVS diagnosis just makes it easy to justify offing her.
If she wanted the tubes removed she certainly wouldn't indicate she was happy in the presence of her family and follow the docs orders during the exam.
It should also be noted that more than a few judges have refused to allow patients that left written orders regarding life support measures to change their minds later after they have, or are about to become disconnected.
