17:34 THE VATICAN, Dec 20 (Tanjug) - Pope John Paul II on Saturday received Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova in a private audience.
The Vatican did not say anything about the subject of the talks, the US news agency Associated Press said.

Kosovo President Meets Pope John Paul II
ROME, Italy -- Pope John Paul II met with Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova at the Vatican on Saturday (20 December). Rugova expressed his appreciation for the beatification of Mother Teresa and for the Popes contribution to promoting religious tolerance and peace. According to reports, Rugova asked for Vatican support for Kosovo and briefed the Pope on preparations in Pristina to build a cathedral. (Kosovo Radio, HINA - 20/12/03)
