Over 50 bags of hashish litter the deck of the dhow intercepted in the Arabian Gulf. A U.S. Navy boarding team operating from the guided missile destroyer USS Decatur (DDG 73) discovered an estimated two tons of narcotics with a street value of around eight to ten million dollars aboard a 40-foot dhow intercepted in the Arabian Gulf. Back in the day, many Navy ships carried a USCG boarding team, and during the boarding ops they'd actually run a CG ensign up the mast.

The problem is that this boat was just a little dhow and yet was carrying $10 million in drugs.

Get rid of the "war on drugs", and a boat big enough to carry ten million dollars worth of the stuff would be the size of a medium-sized tanker. The navy's job would have to be easier.

The article does not say its resin... from the photo it seems
to have adequate form and bulk already.. cut into bullion cubes et joila!

All the USN ships in the Caribbean use Coasties for boarding inspections on dope interdiction.

We have our own teams. We call them VBSS - Visit, Board, Search & Salvage. During OEF, we had a pair of CG guys onboard for a couple of days, but that was it. They gave us a little training in evidence handling. That was the only time I've had CG onboard other than for LEO (Law Enforcement Ops) off Mexico and South America.
