Libya's leader Colonel Gaddafi has said his country sought to develop weapons of mass destruction capabilities but will dismantle this programme completely, Prime Minister Tony Blair has announced. "This decision is an historic one and a courageous one and I applaud it," Mr Blair said.
Colonel Gaddafi had told him the process of dismantling the programme would be "transparent and verifiable", the prime minister said in a statement from Durham Cathedral.
The range of all Libya's missiles would be restricted to "no more then 300km, he added.
Mr Blair said Britain had been engaged in talks with Libya for nine months.
"Libya came to us in March following successful negotiations on Lockerbie to see if it could resolve its weapons of mass destruction issue in a similarly cooperative manner," he said.

If such is the case, I'll throw my earlier one back up. It's quite worthy on a day like today!

"There were Israeli intel reports months ago that Saddam transferred WMD to Libya. Isn't it possible, if not probable, that Libya is expecting Saddam to tell on them now that he's caught? I think that's what's going on here, I'd like some feedback..."
I't sure sounds like a reasonable theory to me, I guess only time will tell. But if true, this will become the final nail in the official DNC coffin. One can only hope at this point. Keep yer radio on!!

GLGB, would you perform the Al'Querty exorcism Monday morning for us? I'm anxious to hear how she spins this (or breaks her face from the strain.....)

I suppose that our strength in Iraq and Afghanistan woke up Mommar. To tell you the honest truth, we should have blown Ghadaffi of the face of the earth on 9/12. Damn, he's a known terrorist. Let's not celebrate too much here. I just can't buy into the idea that terrorists can have a change for good. They are pure evil. To be on the safe side, let's just kill them all and let God sort out any converts to good. We will be safer when Lybia is glass.

Why is the "all about oil" thing used against the U.S. but never when the Left is actually interested in oil profits. Noticed that too, eh? One minute "oil-driven greed" is disgusting, the next minute it's a tear-flowing shame that France isn't getting "their" slice of the pie.

Ah yes, the "we will" speech. Thought that was a good one. It's worth doing a little look-see so I thought it fitting to link to the
Vermont GOP's copy of that speech for your reading pleasure. Here it is:

I didn't hear about this until on my way home tonight. The fact that these talks were 'quietly' going on for nine months and the announcement just came out today is significant. President Bush is doing his job, making the world a safer place, not in a showy or boisterous way. All the while the Dems are trying to discredit his efforts by saying how ineffective he is. BWAAAAHAHAAAHAHAAA

Hey, I know you lot think English cuisine is bad, but there's no need for comments like that! ;-) English cuisine isn't world renowned, but it could be worse...it could be Scottish cuisine!

Jim Baker had a very successful trip. Other than FNC, you wouldn't know anything about his trip from the broadcast media.

Wide reaching ramifications here my friend. When James Baker 111 Travels to France, Germany, Italy and Russia, and in less then a week, they all fall in line, he was carrying a powerful message. The complete capitulation of Mr. Khadafy is icing on the cake. Mr. Khadafy apparently prefers three hots and a cot in his palace, then candy bars in a spider hole. There is a huge story in progress the press is missing, the story that history books 50 and 100 yrs. from now, will cover in complete detail and with every nuance. I wish I could live long enough to see it, and be able to say, "I saw it then"....!

Yeah me too, but the Lord has other plans for me.:-}

Jim Baker is something. When he got called into Florida I felt much surer of the final outcome. I'd like to have him negotiating with St Peter on my behalf but I've already retained Torie. LOL

The Christmas present to da Colonel, one small box containing;
(1) One Tongue Depressor
(2) One bottle of RID lice nit killer
(3) One can of SPAM
(4) Phone number to ACLU and web address of DU
President Bush sends his regards

Mansoor Ijaz also mentioned on FoxNews recently that by the time of the State of the Union speech, we will have found Saddam's WMD.
Debka also had an article back some time ago, that there is evidence that Saddam moved his WMD to Syria. I tend to believe that.
