Maybe they are hoping he'll run. I've been wondering the same thing about them giving back his passport. I just heard on the radio that his friends are having a big party for him this week to show their support. It made me wonder if it was really a bon voyage party. If the DA is hoping Jacko'll do a Polanski, I'd guess it might be because the evidence is too weak for a likely conviction, but Jacko would do anything to avoid the exposure of a trial even if assured of an acquittal. It might serve their mutual interests for Jacko to just disappear.
