USO Holiday Show Tours Central Command

"It's important that we do this," said USO president and chief executive officer Ned Powell. "These young men and women need to know America loves them, misses them and values them."

Boy, they sure do. It takes so little to let them know you care and it means so much to them.

I do wish my kiddo could have seen this. It still helps moral when they hear that people came to visit.

The tour features Academy Award-winning actor Robin Williams, Olympic gold medalist
and wrestler Kurt Angle, NASCAR driver Mike Wallace and Fox Sports host Leeann Tweeden.

Even if I Robin Williams' politics aren't my cup of tea...I give Mr. Williams
and the rest of the USO group deep respect and honor.

ANYONE who even tries to do an USO tour following the loss of Bob Hope is a real
"show-biz trooper"...they know that Bob Hope is just about the hardest "act to follow"
in the history of entertainment or the cosmos.

OK, I know all the teens and 20-somethings in the crowd may not appreciate this, but I'm sure
many of the senior officers sense this "changing of the guard" and hope the next
"Bob Hope" (or multiples of him) appears soon.
