[history]
U.S. District Judge Paul L. Friedman yesterday freed John Hinckley Jr., the man who shot President Reagan, for unsupervised trips from the mental hospital where he has been confined for more than two decades.
Judge Friedman granted the trips over the objections of the U.S. government and the family of the former president.

Hinckley has shown ... no signs of delusional thinking in the past 15 years and no signs of obsessive conduct for eight years. Sounds like he is in better mental health than Nikita Dean.

These judges should be subject to the same punishment the inmates would receive if they committed any crimes while out on these trips.
This is not 'compassion', it's lunacy.

Judge Friedman, 59, who was appointed by President Clinton in 1994...My President's assailant gets to walk out of confinement on unsupervised leave.
Everything Clinton touches is corrupted & vile.

So has anyone mentioned to Hinkley that Bill Clinton is dating Jodie Foster?

Did you see the foxnews clip of Hinkley.
While basically ignoring the cameras, he was gesturing to somone else. rather than wave them over like a normal person, he extended his index finger at them, thump pointed up, and yanked the trigger, so to speak.
Explanations?; 1) mockery of justice, conscious on deep rooted 2) still crazy 3) just plain stupid 4) get me the reynolds wrap.

This is an outrage! He tried to assassinate a sitting president. This is why we need a death penalty, and yes, I think even an unsuccessful assassination attempt on a sitting president deserves the death penalty. The consequences are much larger than in a normal case. Here, the assassin is attempting to change the government. Therefore, I think such attempts should be viewed as treason.
The insanity defense laws need major revision. Psychiatry is not an exact science and many allow their own personal intuition to guide them when making medical decisions.
