They said he was paranoid schizophrenic. There is no cure for that, no matter what anyone says. The medications don't work very well or for very long. The woman who drowned her children in the bathtub in Texas had the same problem.
I have a family member who has the same problem and has been treated for it for 44 years, and he has never gotten better. The best they've been able to do for him was sedate him heavily. He has tried to kill people four times. The fourth time they finally took him to court and the judge said "there, there you have to take your medicine".
I don't care what they say, there is no cure in traditional psychiatry. The medicines and talk therapy do not work. These people just get scooted around from place to place and the families have to deal with it with no help.
My relative is locked up now, permanently until the end of his life in a nursing home. Unsupervised visits are not a good idea for anyone who has ever been violent with this illness.

That's fair enough, I was not saying that he is cured. Just that IF in fact he had a true mental disease that he is now cured from, then good for him.
