I think as a matter of practice, the guys should have dug their holes a little deeper. The shrapnel from a lucky mortar hit to the tube or other nearby high spot looks like it could take out several of them

One of the reporters (Fox or MSNBC correspondent) who were given access to the site yesterday described the salamis hanging from the trees. That's how I knew what they were. It's a farm, dontcha know! [wink]

I always supported our troops, especially when I was one.

I think the louder majority started with Gulf War I. I think it grew exponentially with post 9/11 actions. I hope it continues to grow.

God Bless Them All

Do you think that Iraqi sand is tough to dig into after getting down a couple of feet? Seems to me it would be packed tight. Not making excuses for the guys... :-)

...they must use some powerful perservatives.

Do you think salt plus the dry desert heat would be enough of a preservative? (Not that I really care about Saddam's salamis!)

Last night Cheri Reso-Goebel was on the Gary McNamara show talking about sending care packages to our troops. The Military Mothers of Ft. Worth put together about 10,000 packages and were able to send 7,000 of those. They have now run out of postage to send the rest. If anyone can help it would mean the world to our troops to have a little something from home during the Christmas season. All contact information is listed below.

Meekie and others who may have a Texas ping list would you mind doing the honors?

God bless you all and have a Merry Christmas!!!

Two years ago, for Christmas, Circuit City offered to make Christmas Videos for anyone who wanted to wish our troops a Merry Christmas. My message is the same today as it was then: Thank you, we are grateful and indebted to you, and wish that you could be Home for the Holidays.

Dear Soldier, Sailor, Marine, Airman,CoastGuard, National Guard......

I just want to thank you for being there....for me, my family, your family, for our country....for fighting to keep it strong and free.
I pray that God will bless you and keep you safe. You are all our HEROS, and when you return, there will be parties and balloons and fireworks and parades, and dancing in the street.
