"Regards from President Bush."
No wonder he looked so pathetic.

The hole needs to be caved in and covered with 4 feet of concrete. I wrote two poems about ol Saddam since Sunday morning.
Saddam
They found him in a spider hole,
Just like we knew they would.
Though we are glad I'm sure the Dems,
Feel this is not too good.
I'm sure they all are saddened now,
For Saddam's in our hand.
The French, the Germans, chant along,
The Russians lead the band.
They want the contracts to rebuild,
The Dems want Bush to fail.
Death for Saddam is too swift,
Lets let him rot in jail.
Congratulations to our troops,
And to our leader here.
George Bush is still the man to lead,
He gets my vote next year.

Cowards
They recently found Saddam,
Hiding in his pit.
I hope this is a warning,
Cowards are not fit.
They do not lead but threaten,
Their people to obey.
They rape and kill their people,
All to get their way.
But take away that power base,
Watch the roaches slide.
Death is for their underlings,
Cowards, they just hide.

U.S. Special Forces soldier who found him cowering in the hold and said: "Regards from President Bush." Class act. Pure class.

Why was a billionaire hiding in a hole, in his home town, when all Iraq and perphery was looking for him, waiting to be captured?

I don't know what I would have done if the hole was covered up - the way it was for Saddam in his last minutes of freedom. I'm not sure if "freedom" is the right word to use in this situation. Saddam has been on the run for the past nine months and I'm sure it hasn't been very pleasant for him. He was most likely a "veteran" of holes such as the claustrophobia-inducing one he was found in. I wonder how many times our troops unknowingly walked over other such holes that Saddam was entrenched in during their long search. Saddam's high-living days have apparently been over for quite a while now.

I posted this to the german ping list yesterday:
FR....Where Saddam Was Staying - Pictures
It has a slideshow of 9 pictures showing Hussein's hideout. Click on one of the thumbnails and it takes you to the slideshow on a German site.
One of the pictures is of a GI with the $750,000 in cash Hussein had with him.
