Bush rules out 'blanket amnesty'

President Bush yesterday ruled out granting "blanket amnesty" to as many as 12 million immigrants illegally in the United States, but said he supports a policy that benefits American business owners and immigrant job seekers.

"We need to have an immigration policy that helps match any willing employer with any willing employee," Mr. Bush said in a news conference yesterday.

Well I learned something yesterday. These congressman who will not close the borders should have their campaign and personal finances checked for investments in and by Citibank, Wells Fargo and Bank of America.

These three banks do not want the border closed and in fact want the matricular consular phony IDs to be used by the illegals so that they can handle the illegals money. You know that nearly $30 billion a year is sent out of country by the illegals and these banks profit by allowing the illegals to use phony IDs to bank with them.

The dept of homeland security and the national security office want the borders closed.

The state department and the department of the treasury (along with the aforementioned banks) want it open. Guess who is winning?

I would start directing letters to the state department the dept of the treasury requesting they change their policy. I would send letters to congress and the president demanding that America reform the state department and the department of the treasury now! They are not acting in the best interests of our country.

I would also write letters to the editor and give a few black eyes to these banks so that people know who is behind the lack of border defense.

This information came from a congressman on a talk show yesterday.

Bush clearly has no intention of laying out anything coherent on immigration policy before the next election.

Amnesty is separate from immigration policy. Amnesty is an extension of "borders mean nothing, and neither do laws or oaths of office" policy.

As you say, the intention President Bush avoids, with all due diligence, is to make himself plain as to the disposition of Illegals.

However, when a politician cavils about opposing "blanket" Amnesty, it's darned sure they favor some other form.

All of what you mentioned was discussed in a congressional committee meeting a few weeks ago. The FBI is the only department that came down on the Matricular I.Ds. The Department of Homeland Security hemhawed around.

I think it depends on the response to Tom Ridge's trial balloon of last week. BTW, that's the first time a federal official has conceded that there might be as many as 12 million Illegals in the country.

The way I think it will play is "they're here anyway, we need to know who and where they are, for security."

The bottom line Mr. Ridge, is that we have already decided what our immigration policy is, NOW enforce it. Enforce it now, what the heck does "then" mean? Are you a law abiding citizen in charge of enforcing the laws of this nation, head of Homeland Security or not? What's your excuse for ignoring the laws on the books? What's Bush's excuse? What ever it is, it isn't good enough, that pig won't fly.

There is more to being a responsible American than matching up willing worker with willing employer, there are cultural, legal, moral, social, and economic issues at stake here. Or does that well touted "conservative compassion" not apply to you and your boss's fellow citizens? You guys familiar with that term? Sovereign citizen? It's not something to be toss'ed to the masses like soap cupons, or a lottery. Government is responsible for the caliber and quality of immigrants they allow in our home. How is ripping off the taxpayer, his Social Security, his hard earned money paid in taxes to pay for the welfare, medical, services of illegals, while they make their money under the table and rip off the American economy to the tune of $14,000,000,000.00 per year compassionate to those you are responsible to?

Now you want to send them $5,000,000.000.00 of our already shaky SS funds in one year to be followed by 34,000,000,000.00 in five years and all you have is their corrupt word and shady documentation that they are entitled to our money.

If you want to match willing worker with willing employer first clear the nation of these Palastentian wanna be's that partied in the streets, sold Ben Laden masks and t-shirts on 9-11, then document and verify those you want to issue temporary work permits to. This should not include their families who should remain in Mexico as an incentive for them to return to their homeland. End and revoke anchor baby status, and clean house, or you may find yourselves in shock in 2004 when the slogan becomes, "It's the illegals stupid".

Makes sense. It has nothing really to do with the issue of illegals per se, but it does have a nice fuzzy feeling to it.

I agree with you that "security" will be the excuse for amnesty.

However, I think we have to scream. "When is the last illegal alien coming???????"

To use "security" as an excuse for amnesty will be an admission by Bush and Homeland Security that they can't and have failed to secure our borders.

First, President Bush is against blanket amnesty. Second, President Bush just expanded the workplace verification bill so that employers like me don't get faked by the forged documents of illegals.

But that's not good enough, is it? If Bush doesn't militarize the borders, then he's with them rather than us to far too many gullible posters around here.

And I'm seldom persuaded by such all-or-nothing positions. Not every President has been against blanket amnesty for illegals. Bush is. Not every President would have extended the verification program. Bush did.

So even on this one issue, Americans could do far worse than to have Bush in office.

S. 1685, the Basic Pilot Extension Act of 2003, was signed by President Bush on December 3, 2003.
