It does seem exceedingly odd. He could have easily gained asylum in the UK.

If the trial of Saddam is done correctly and broadcast on tv it will make the reelection of W a lock. Don't hold your breath. The Scott Peterson and Michael Jackson trials could preempt coverage of Saddam's trial.

Is this too much to ask? It seems quite reasonable to me.
Really.

Nope. Justice gets meted out in heaven from the seat of all Justice. Not to say Saddam won't be going to He11, mind you.

I thought He was coming HERE to judge, and those considered righteous will then be taken to heaven... The rest will be cast into the lake of fire.

One thing is for sure: if there is any international involvement, Saddam will become the new Milosevic - still arguing his case and outwitting The Hague's prosecutors in the year 2010.

... will never be fully punished for his terrorism...
There is never perfect justice on this side of death, but ultimately, yes.

Every Day, for the Rest of this Miserable Man's Life, he should sit in a pool of his own excrement, & be forced to face--& listen to--the relatives & Victims of his inhuman decrees.
The Litany of his Crimes should be recited to his face in an unending recitation.
ALL who "Facilitated" his "Pathology" should be Forced to witness his "Abominations" beside him---"Over & Over!!'
But, I Suppose, being forced to witness his own Crimes would be "Cruel & Unusual Punishment!!"
After All, "We're the "Nice Guys," & we wouldn't want to remind the "Bad Guys" of their behavior!!

His family was in Iraq and Saddam loved to destroy the families of those who escaped.
