Fellow Americans,
When I entered the race for U.S. Senate a little more than a week ago, I did so with the promise that I would clearly articulate my differences with Barbara Boxer. If I thought her actions and extremist views were harmful to the people of this nation, I would spell it out clearly.
The news of Saddam Husseins capture has captivated the attention of our nation and invigorated the spirit and morale of our brave servicemen and servicewomen in Iraq. And on a day that the U.S. celebrates the capture of one of the most vile and murderous tyrants in world history, we have to be thankful for the outstanding efforts conducted by the men and women of our military.
But, it is also important to point out that if we had followed the lead of Barbara Boxer, Saddam Hussein would still be a free man. Furthermore, following Barbara Boxers anti-war and soft-on-terrorism approach would have left Saddam in power in Iraq.
Instead of being in the custody of the U.S. military, Saddam Hussein would probably be standing on the patio of one of his palaces raising a rifle in the air and commanding his supporters to continue to use violence and terrorism to afflict suffering on the people of America a nation he has repeatedly called the Great Satan. Consider the following:
Boxer voted AGAINST authorizing use of military force against Iraq in 2002.
Boxer voted AGAINST the 1991 Gulf War resolution.
Boxer tried to cut funding for the military prior to U.S. forces taking action in Iraq.
I hope you will visit the page we have set up on our website that documents Boxers inexcusable voting record and public comments regarding Saddam Hussein and Iraq.
And please forward this e-mail to your friends, so that we may expose to all Americans the treacherous actions and positions of Barbara Boxer and the war in Iraq.
Sincerely Yours,
Howard Kaloogian
Republican Candidate for U.S. Senate
In a normal world, I would have a discussion with someone, and we would agree about some things, and disagree about others. You know, I like steak, you like chicken. I like the Yankees, you like the Dodgers, that kind of thing. But, with liberals, the amazing thing is, they are absolutely wrong about absolutely everything.
Howard's experience in politics as a conservative activist who then was elected to the State Assembly for three terms taught him that you both have to espouse what you believe, and be willing to take the fight to those who are leading this nation down an entirely different path.
Whether it was Gray Davis, CBS/Showtime/Viacom or Barbara Boxer, Howard will proudly defend his views (and with a positive outlook and smile - as those of you who have seen on TV have seen) and will not allow liberals to silence him or to dismiss him.
Republicans in California rallied around Schwarzenegger late in the recall election because they saw he had the best chance to advance goals that GOPers held.
Kaloogian is determined to show Republican primary voters that he is best prepared to go head-to-head with Boxer and withstand the inevitable smear campaign she will wage against him.
I am working for Howard's campaign - so I am biased. But, you don't have to be a Kaloogian supporter to relish the thought of Howard and Boxer going head to head. I think she's met her match and it will be one 'heck' of a campaign if the two face off in the general.
The rumor mill has it that Tony wracked up a lot of debt from his Senate run and that therefore he needed help to retire it. I am not sure what deal would have been struck with Jones or Schwarzenegger, but I was saddened to see Tony drop out too.
Howard got in the race 3 hours before the filing deadline and scrambled to get the people who helped him on the Recall and Defend Reagan Committees to get his name on the ballot.
It was because Tony dropped out that Howard decided with no time to spare that a 'clear conservative voice' needed to be an option for GOP primary voters.
P.S. Everyone's typing Koolgian - when it's Kaloogian. But I kinda like it - Howard is kinda 'kool' for all the good work he has done :)
I just looked up how to say "Goodbye Barbara" in Armenian and the website listed it as:
Tsedesutyun Barbara Boxer
