They will be running down the ticket with President Bush this time, I think that the coattails will likely extend into East Texas at least...

Louisiana is one of those states where the Dems still have some solid support on the local level, no doubt about it. But Bush will once again win the state easily, and any Democrat who runs has to be at least perceived as something of a centrist to have any realistic chance.

Considering the GOP hasn't held a Senate seat in Louisiana since Reconstruction, I'd say pulling in 48% to 49% of the vote *is* doing well recently.
